Does anyone know if you can just put the "4" folder with all its contents on the SD card and whether or not that would work using luma3ds's RomFS patching?
Cause texture hacking is fun, but man am I tired of re-packing the "4" folder into a garc file.
I'm assuming it's not possible, but if no one here knows whether it's possible or not, then I'll give it a try cause it be a huge time saver

It's not possible.
layeredFS can only redirect for files in romFS, and it won't recognize a single piece of a compressed file.
Unfortunately you need to recompress it each time.

I still think it's impossible, but what I meant is instead of the "4" *file* put in a "4" *folder* and have it contain everything the file normally has(10.000 files or something).
That way it still contains all of the files it needs to contain but if you make another texture hack you could just drag it into the "4" *folder* and just replace the original texture file with the custom one.
I'm not to familiar with the technical side of all this, so forgive me if I say really obvious/stupid

Personally it's more because I have to either Google or search through my history to find this thread when I need it, I myself would like a discord like that just for the ability to share hacks like these on a more popular "site"(by that I mean discord)
hey i'm trying to change May for Hilda in ORAS, I got my model and everything is working BUT I'm unable to import a model into a BCH. I can import obj with Ohana3ds but obj don't include the skeleton so i'd like to find a way to import a complete model. Rebirth gives me following error when trying to import.
"object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Try using this version of Ohana, I find it works easier with ORAS/XY than USUM. https://gbatemp.net/download/sharing-not-by-me-ohana3ds-non-rebirth.35449/
Since I don't know what exact files you're working with, can't say any more other than suggestions. Is your model a .bin file that you're trying to turn into a bch? For ORAS/XY
it can work to just rename the .bin to .bch I believe.

The model is from Maya so I can pretty much save it in whatever format maya can save as.
i'll give a shot to saving it as a bin file and then renaming it, you never know!
As for the version of Ohana3ds you provided it's unable to import full model just obj but thank you nonetheless
