I was trying to do a hardmod but I failed both with hardmod and putting the 3ds back together. Now I think I broke some plastic things that hold cable into the motherboard. If anyone have experience with repairing a 3ds please help me. Did I break it or it can be repaired without buying new parts. Here is the pictures

You can watch this guy fix a 3DS with joystick drift. It is pretty much what you will have to do if your interested in fixing yours yourself. Otherwise you will want to find that thread with a list of hard modders by region and find one that is probably local to you that is willing to fix yours.

Why the hell were you doing hardmod when there are the easier and safer methods: ntrboot or seedminer ?

Besides, the wires you used are too fat. You broke like three connectors throughout that board.

***

Replacement connector flap piece models: P6 and [P10|P12|P13|P17].

***

That crumpled up ribbon cable looks too damaged. I think that one leads to the n3DSXL touchscreen digitizer.

***

I personally don't believe you have the competency to fix the n3DSXL yourself judging how many things that are broken on that motherboard. This is quite odd because you do demonstrate having steady enough hands to solder those two wires half decent.

Recommendation:
Get that n3DSXL fixed by a 3rd party repair specialist.

2 Years? And you just talk about it now? Seems odd.

If ya cant find a fix for it. Your likely solution now is either ditch the 3ds or buy a new one.

Ah. Then you get a pass for the hardmod attempt. It's a wonder why anyone in their right mind would want to do hardmod in this day and age.

If that was your first time at electronic modding or repairs, then the three broken connectors is understandable. Still, your choice of those wires could have been better.

If you intend to salvage that board yourself, snip the wires at their solder roots. Buy replacement connector flaps. Depending if the connector mounts are still intact, the replacement flaps should pop in. Replace the digitizer anyway due to its cable being in bad shape.

Where or which country do you live if you don't mind sharing?

No excuse even 2 years ago as we had the first CFW PastaCFW May 15th 2015

ntrboot wasn't available until May 30, 2017. His hardmod date (2 years + some leeway of several months) falls within the timeline where he might have only been left with hardmod.
Maybe he's one of those people who break their electronics, put it away in storage, and come back to it on another day with more financial security to buy replacements and enough courage to muster tackling (to getting it) fixed, despite the shameful failed hardmod attempt.

I think we beat him over the head enough with how bad his hardmod was.

@pacemaker76 or anyone too embarrassed about sharing their fucks up in hardmod, I once hardbrick my GameCube trying to pull off the region switch mod... And hardbricked Game Boy Advance with a failed Afterburner backlighting mod... And also a PSP-1000 phat that had firmware 1.50, stupid disk reader died on me. Grrr.

Just try to fiddle the lock back in and hope for the best!
You can also try to get a 3ds with a broken screen or something to use as a donor...

Thanks for the support, yeah that was my first attempt at fixing an electronic device. I am not saying that I did a good job but I need some help.

Your best bet is finding a 3rd party (non-official) Apple phone repair specialist if there are any in Turkey. Nintendo repair support is probably nonexistence in the Middle East region.

What is pcb?
He's referring to the motherboard. PCB is the general term for circuit boards.

I already linked this to you in my first post. There are two different model connectors for the three or so you broke. I think you need both types.

This I also already linked to you my first post. You can also try this aliexpress if that eBay store doesn't ship to Turkey.
