Im not making this thread to say that there isnt any good games on the Switch, there are dozens, but overall Im feeling unsatisfied. I cant think of many deep/meaningful games besides Mario, Zelda and some jrpgs.

So I guess Im asking what are your favorite single player games that has dozens or hundreds of hours of deep gameplay?

Divinity Original Sin 2 and soon Witcher 3. Although they are both RPGs. For other genres you're looking at like old ports like Resident Evil and Assassin's Creed.

By some Jrpgs do you refer to DQ XI in that? If not that game, as bad as this will sound I’ve put 50 hours in the last 6 days on that game.... great

Im not really a fan of jrpgs, but i did finish that DQ game on 3DS....by using cheats. I do plan to try DQXI, but Im not holding my breath that I will enjoy it.

Personally I prefer my action/western rpgs.

Divinity Original Sin 2 and soon Witcher 3.

Ive tried Divinity on PC before and didnt like the controls. Looking forward to Witcher 3 but Im afraid the HUD might be tiny in portable mode.

Other than Mario I haven't seen much reason to have my Switch yet. Hopefully they will fix the framerate issue in the new Zelda soon.

Other than Smash Bros., Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is my favorite game on Switch. I don't know if that speaks to how good that game is or how bland the rest of the lineup is.

If we're talking exclusives, there are at least seven really great ones.

Smash Ultimate
BotW
Mario Odyssey
Astral Chain
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Super Mario Maker 2
Link's Awakening

Five I'd consider "good."

Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee
Mario Tennis Aces
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Obviously a number of games which are highly recommended for those that never owned a WiiU (most people). A few of my faves.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Bayonetta 2
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze

And plenty of great cross-platform/eShop games.

Blasphemous
Celeste
Stardew Valley
Rocket League
Sonic Mania
Golf Story
Wargroove
Ace Attorney Trilogy

Really looking forward to Luigi's Mansion 3 this month too. This generation of consoles has been slow to produce high quality exclusives in general, but Switch is already passing PS4 in that regard.

Honestly not really much, I play mostly nintendo exclusives and everything else on either steam or ps4.

The majority of those games arent what Im looking for....What Im wanting is a game like Breath of the Wild or Skyrim.

Then you should play those two because there's nothing else like them on the Switch. Don't like it sell it no one really cares.

isn't one of the demons/dark souls games for the switch? I could be remembering wrong. I've never played any games in that series, but I've heard that they're highly addictive games that offer countless hours of gameplay. the only reason I remember the game (assuming I'm remembering correctly) is it's one of few games that's not compatible with cloud saving.

Well we know BotW 2 is in the works, but great open-world RPGs don't come along that often. I'd highly recommend Witcher 3 if you haven't played it yet, and The Outer Worlds looks like it'll be good too. I prefer to play these types of multi-platform games on PC, but there's definitely some appeal in being able to play them on a portable system too.

speaking of dark souls, I personally wouldn't play a game with no cloud saving. my first switch died somehow from NAND corruption. it was a legit system, and I hadn't subscribed yet to Nintendo online, so I lost all saves including one Mega Man X6 with 100%. that game is just too brutal to go through again. the bosses are pretty easy, the stages are hard but not impossible, but saving all those reploids. ugh.

that’s tough man, I wish there was cloud saving years ago. You don’t know how many game saves my youngest brother deleted :(

You want hundreds of hours and deep gameplay and yet you don't like JRPG?
Then get a PC or PS4 and stop complaining, the switch cannot handle new western RPG, that's why all they can do is porting the old games or go cartoonish style.
