I've been playing since about 4-5, maaaayyybbbe 6 years.
I'm like backup level at the bass and keyboard too (I mean bass and guitar have a lot of similarities EADG, EADGBe)
I think everyone should play guitar or some sort of instrument. What kinda stuff do you play DRAGONBALLVINTAGE?

I was playing piano but I got tired and switched to guitar, then I got rocksmith but I didn't have the cable so I used the nopatch .exe and the game would scream at me so I started playing on emulated bass and the rest is history

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Or by stuff you ment songs?

I bought rocksmith and the stuff for it and never used it (maybe cuz I already knew how to play when I got it)
and anything really, it's cool any eguitars can be used as emulated basses though (just read up on it)

I've been playing guitar/bass for about 17 years. when I was living in Japan, I brought home a Bacchus guitar. it's shaped like a fender strat. I also have an old Epiphone Casino, since the Beatles used them. speaking of which, I have a bass in the style of one that Paul would use. I also have a fretless bass, and a make your own bass, bass. I went to a teacher for about a year, learning how chords worked mostly. why chords are named the way they are. bar chords or ones where you mute some of the strings. I'd have to make up my own chords to practice with at one point, which I'd show my teacher. when we got to the solo stuff, I stopped going to an instructor. I think I had a good handle on that. however, having grown sick over the past few years, I haven't played guitar or bass in that time, so 17 might be more like 14 years. when I would practice, it would be malmsteen and satriani stuff mostly. the harder the better. I wanted to practice everything I could. if you want a band that uses some funky chords, you might try the who.

You said you play hard songs right? Have you tried YYZ?

Yes. I play bass. Used to play drums for about 5 after high school. Moved in with my girlfriend (now wife) and had to ditch the drums because they are not good for apartment living. She got me a bass (Ibanez) and I already knew how to play because I thumbed through my brothers lesson papers when he was playing bass. Really it was just tablature. Found some bass tab books and learned a couple songs by ear on the radio. My wife got me a 5 string squire bass as a wedding gift (it sounds great and has a nice plaque on it :)). I’ve been playing bass now (off and on) for 20 years. I have a frankenbass. It’s a homemade fretless with a p bass neck and j bass style body. Also found a custom sammick neck-through 6 string. I’ve got those 4 basses and show my kids some music, now and again (they get bored pretty quick). Primus got me into playing bass, so I learned many songs from the frizzle fry album. I just can’t play guitar because my fingers are long and fretting the strings hurt me. Music is life!

I can't seem to move my fingers fast enough on a real bass yet so I'm gonna keep trying

I've been playing piano for 30 years. Guitar for 28 or so. Picked up a bass, banjo and a balalaika along the way. Also play drums a bit. Love alt rock and metal. Play a bit of classical. Love the blues.

Primus sucks! I'm in one of their videos! DMV. To be fair I'm in the crowd but you can see me.

I met Les backstage at the same show where they filmed the DMV video. 1993? Greek Theater. Maybe 94? Cool guy. My old teacher is also the guy who says "this guy's pretty bizarre Gus" in Harold of the rocks. He also plays the blues solo. Mr. Hearn in Fremont my old ROP teacher. He used to go fishing with them all the time. They refer to him as Professor stoned. Memories. I'm surprised I remember so much from the 90s LOL I've seen a bunch of his other bands too. The Fearless flying frog Brigade. Claypool Lennon delirium and sausage. Always a great time

They played the song Twice once live and then they lip-sync it for the video. Les got hit with a roll of toilet paper in the middle of the taping. It was hilarious. He said nobody throw anything on stage that doesn't resemble a bag of marijuana LOL Primus sucks!!

I play a little of everything but guitar is my main instrument. I play a lot of speed metal, thrash and heavy metal but dabble in punk and folk. I've also done some VGM remixes, though I do all of that in FL Studio.

I really like playing drums but haven't had anyone to play with in a long while. My town is horrible for music. Almost everyone only listens to hip hop and pop, which is fine I guess but there's no variation and no unique music scene here whatsoever.

Whoa, I thought that place looked familiar. The Greek is awesome!
Also, that’s a censored video. They don’t say THC or smoke, but they do say lobotomy. Is this new YouTube? Lol

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
