Managed to get everything working again hopefully. That battery indicator bug from 3.0.1 is ever present. I restored my nsw back to 4.1.0 & updated to 9.0.1 everything working as it should. Just out of interest latest atmos & sx os 2.9.1 beta worked on 4.1.0. If Gcfuse is burnt not much I can do there.

Hi, I recently updated to 9.01 and used latest SX os beta revision. I updated fw by internet since I do not care about fuses. I booted SX menu to make latest nand backup, after this used turn off Burton and Switch not turned off but rebooted to probably ofw, have any of you noticed sth similar?

So i'm currently on SX OS 2.9 with EmuNAND 9.0.0 (as files) but with all the bugs present i'd like to go back to 8.1.0. How do i go about this? I have a backup of my 8.1.0 EmuNAND (Emutendo folder).

Do i just copy over the backup Emutendo folder and overwrite the 9.0.0 one on my SD and then put the SX OS 2.8 boot.dat back on my SD card? Or do i downgrade my EmuNAND to 8.1.0 with Choidujournx and then copy over SX OS 2.8 boot.dat?

If you use a filebased EmuNAND and you have created a backup of it, you can simply replace the folder. No need for downgrade.

I do downgrade and update my emunand with choi all the time, it's fast and is good for testing stuff. I also use it as file base ands always keep a copy of it in case I needs to restore the copy but I've been months using the original copy.

Thanks guys, but now i got two different answers and am still not sure about which way i should go :D

So what is the best way to update with the least chance off issues? I dont care about burnt fuses.
Best way atm is just don’t update. Nothing needs 9.0.x yet. Any games that claim they do are just ‘suggested firmware’ and can be bypassed using sx installer or tinfoil/hbgshop.

How can I get rid of the system update notification? It keeps popping up when I start games?

The problem is a lot of us still want to go ahead and update to 9.0.1 to use online features in emunand so yes it’s still very important! Lots of AAA online titles are broken turning off stealth mode, it needs sorting regardless of what you believe..

agreed.. that is the beauty of file based emuNAND - really easy to make and keep backups so you don't lose save games / settings etc. I back up to my NAS every week or so.

whoa hang on total OPPOSITE of what you should be doing!!!

You should NEVER be going online in emuNAND, only in sysNAND. So you have your sysNAND updated to 9.0.1 and then you can use the eshop and play original games etc.

But you have emuNAND at any firmware version and use it solely for homebrew and backups (and this is where stealth mode is enabled.. or better yet.. NEVER enable wifi / network in emuNAND at all, just to be the safest).

I’ve been using emunand hidden partition for a very long time and using original xci with their certificates I have never received a ban I use online very regular I have been doing this now I would say over 2 years, I’ve just literally come off a hard session with Mario Kart 8 online, mentioning the online use! Back in June 2017 I started doing this soon as certificate injection was an option.

Edit: I still own the original retail software but it’s easier for me to use this way with all my games on one sd card to access on the go which I do a lot, it helps.

Although no games currently require 9.0 some newer updates do. For example MUA3 2.0 update has master key 7 but require 9.0 FW according to the readme.

on the subject of coding @XorTroll how is USB support for goldleaf coming along?

or aren't you interested in it any more?
To be honest, I lost motivation to work on it (I'm more interested and focused in other projects) but well, the code is there, if anyone is willing to help with the work... ;)
What do you guys prefer, a custom qlaunch (HOME menu) or USB support? I do prefer a sweet, custom HOME menu to be fair :)

You mean do I want a screen I spend less than 5 seconds versus functionality that could actually be useful? Is this even a question?

qlaunch reimplementation is definitely a lot cooler :)
