Hi guys,

Its the first time i want to updated my hack switch and i try to find a step by step to updated my hack switch from 8..0 to 9.0.

I have a modchip inside my switch so i dont need to do th jig part.

First i have to update my switch to 9.0 in normal mode ?
After that i have to update my custom firmware in custom firmware mode ???

Do i have to use All-in-One CFW Package to do my update ??

At this moment my switch is on plane mode to not get banned but if i want to updated to 9.0 i have to go to my wi-fi to updated my officiel firmware ??

Generally, people with a hacked console accept the fact they risk a ban so you should accept that risk too. There will never be a safe way to hack the console and not risk a ban.

Anyways, generally you update your CFW before you update your firmware. Updating CFW is easy as all you do is update and replace the files on your SD card. As for updating your firmware, if you wish to stay offline, you can use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware.

Since you're already on firmware 9.0, you will have to use a CFW that supports firmware 9.0. While SX OS was recently updated to support firmware 9.0, it is definitely unstable not to mention paid for. I recommend setting up Atmosphere which you can do by following this guide

I am about to buy a switch that is not patched (According to some serial number check website). But it will have the latest updates from what i understand.

Will i still be able to run custom firmware on it? And if so, is there a guide that explains me how to do it?

Unpatched consoles are hacked via a hardware exploit. This means your software aka your firmware version will never stop you from being able to hack it. However the CFW needs to be updated in order to support that firmware and if it is already on the latest firmware, then you will need a CFW that supports that firmware. Currently, the only 2 CFW that supports firmware 9.0 which is the latest firmware version are SX OS and Atmosphere. SX OS is a CFW you have to pay for and you can do nearly everything on SX OS with Atmosphere. In order to setup Atmosphere, I recommend following this guide

Hey i have a 4.1 fw Switch in front of me. I want to update it to 8.1 to play reinx on it. How do i do it as safe as possible. The switch is on ofw. The normal firmware update should bring it to 9.0 i think or can i somehow update official to 8.1

Installing a modchip can automate this process but I get the feeling you do not have the skill to perform this. Please do remember that sleep mode exists though.

No it begins with XAJ4003. But that doesnt matter now cause my brother now updated it to 9.0 xD

This guide should be sufficient in setting up Atmosphere for firmware 9.0

I did my dirt (nsp installation)on my cfw sysnand v9.0.0, instead of using emunand, running atmosphere, while using the 90dns wifi settings, can i still play online if i do a clean sysnand from a backup I made before the mistake or im I stuck?

my switch is a fully hackable 2017 model, with 8.1.0 and atmosphere 0.9.4 cfw and autorcm.#

i want to install nsp games over usb, i run a laptop with windows 10 x64 and use this guide:

my problem: my goldleaf 0.7.2 doesn't have the menu entry "USB Installations" at all while i have injected the rcm through my pc with tegrarcmgui and still connected via usb.

This is an issue of how sysMMC and emuMMC are treated as different systems. I'm not even sure if there is a potential workaround.

You have multiple options ranging but not limited to SD to NSP Dumper, Goldleaf, and nxdumptool.

Yes as long as you have a clean eMMC raw GPP/eMMC SYS

Try not to follow video guides as they are horribly outdated and usually written by people how have no idea what they are actually doing. I personally use Aluminum Foil so you should give it a try as well.

I was in the hb store and saw the atmosphere and kosmos updaters and thought it was a good idea to get them and use them. Even though ive done this before on 3ds with luma a few times and got screwed; I must have forgot not to trust updaters. Anyways I can only boot up to Hekate menu and when I launch it reaches the sept by atmosphere logo and then totally black screens/shuts off. I've tried replacing the atmosphere and kosmos files but that didn't work, so now I'm lost. Using eFAT if that matters, any help would be appreciated, hoping its an easy fix.

I installed the libusbk driver with zadig, but i still don't have any USB Installations option in Goldleaf.

Aluminum Foil seems to be made for Tinfoil which never works on my switch since i always get the message "the installation enviroment is corrupted. please redownload the zip and extract it into the root of your sdcard" (if i do that my atomsphere won't boot no more).
