TX Presents SX OS v2.9 BETA - With Full v9.0 Firmware Support!

NEW UPDATE FIXES UPGRADE ISSUES!

PLEASE USE V2.9.1b INSTEAD OF 2.9

YOU CAN NOW USE CHOIDUJOURNX 1.0.2 WITH 2.9.1b

**********************************************

Good day, fans and believers! We hope you are all having a good weekend.

SXOS29.png

Team-Xecuter has done it again, they have updated their world-famous SX OS to now support the latest v9.0 Switch firmware from Nintendo.
Today, we bring you a much needed update of SX OS. Full compatibility with the latest Switch firmware 9.0! Sorry that we kept you waiting, we wanted to make sure all our unique features still properly work.

Additionally, we also introduced support for the "Horizon split format". This means that people who use FAT32 can have folders named 'game.xci' with split parts contained therein (named 00, 01, 02, etc.). Make sure the folder has the 'archive' bit set.

We know you are waiting for some other big features in SX OS, they are coming.. We wanted to get this compatibility update out first though.

So what are you waiting for? SX OS 2.9 beta is available for download on our website now! (and also through the builtin online updater part of SX OS.)

I tried to update with ChoiDujourNX 1.01 and it froze at flashing firmware 0/6 now I can't get past the Nintendo logo it just goes black and no other cfw loads, I think I am corrupt. I had updated SX-OS first then rebooted/flashed. I also did not do a nand backup.

Edit- just read the previous pages and I should have read here first.

I also bricked as a result of this. Last backup was from 4.1, and I never set up emunand.
I'd updated to 2.9, and used ChoiDujourNX to update the FW to 9.0
Restoring BOOT0/1 wasn't enough to get it working, had to do the full NAND restore

You people do realize this time around it took them longer to update for a newer firmware because atmosphere basically kept the fixes for 9.0.0 private until they were ready to release. There's plenty of evidence showing they've been stealing atmosphere code.
And not only that, this update is buggy af, causing more bricks than I've ever seen in a public release of anything. Wow. Good job TX, and the staff here that get paid to white-knight for them.

Hey so ummm... I'm pretty sure this just bricked my Switch.
It won't boot. Nothing. No lights on the little jig. Nothing. Any ideas?

Everything seems to be working fine here, Dragon Quest XI 1.01 included.

Used choixdujour 1.02 and sx 2.8 to update emunand, shut down.
Updated sys nand via nintendo servers.
Changed to sx 2.9 and no problems at the moment in sys or emunand.
Backing up now.

do you have any workaround with this issue? unfortunately, i dont have any backup. is there any way to get around with it. i don't mind losing files on my switch if that's needed to get it to boot up again. i just tried updating using choidujour like everyone else did, but it's just displaying the nintendo logo then black screen. i can still access the sxos loader. :(

Did you update using sx os 2.8 as suggested? If so do you use custom themes?

Cool! I have been waiting for this news!

Be careful not to use choidujour ver. 1.0.1 on sx os 2.9.. people are bricking, please backup your nand ahead of time and only update to 9.0.0 on sx os 2.8 using choi 1.0.2

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
