Hacking I need help with my secondhand banned switch

Hi all,


Ok, I am trying to hack my switch for the first time.

I bought a secondhand BANNED switch. The guy used it with the SX pro dongle. He wanted to sell the dongle for additional $55 , I did not do that. I only got the switch without his SX dongle and without his Nintendo SD card.

So I am using the switchguide website. And I want to use SYSNAND (because already banned anyway), and install CFW with Atmosphere.

So i go through all these steps , prepare my own new SD card, my pc , go into rcm mode and i am at the step where I have to inject the payload for the first time and then it says: payload already injected, do you want to reïnject?

I choose no, because I think that is what the guy must have done. Then I look at my switch and I see this (see photo)

What is this? It stops me from going to the next step in the guide ( which is “continue to make the backups” ). Can I reïnject the “hekate_ctcaer .bin file” that I put on my SD card, yes or no? Won’t it screw up the Switch and brick it?

And since the guy does not give me his sd card or his backup, will I be able to make a sysnand backup upfront? What should I do from here to be able to install the CFW and atmosphere?

Ok you have injected the lockpick rcm payload. Its used to get the console keys
Ok turn off the console again and put it into rcm and then load the Hekate payload

Simply reboot to RCM and inject hekate again. It seems you choose to dump the keys from emuMMC. Instead you need to dump the keys from eMMC (SysMMC). And always create a backup.

And shoukd i check the warning?

So I was able to install henkate v 5.0.2. and make backups of eemc and keys.

But then I go into LAUNCH and I get the Error:

FAILED TO RUN SEPT.

what am I doing wrong?

Considering you aren't seeing Nyx, (touchscreen UI) and your running Hekate 5.0.2, you should check your SD files. Extract the Hekate archive to your SD card and report back.

Yeah, that's it. Are you still getting the same errors? If so, I recommend using the Kosmos defaults package on sdsetup (google it), and then extracting the zip and copying all files in the "sd" folder to your SD root, or try extracting the latest atmosphere to your SD's root. If that doesn't work, please send a screenshot of your SD card's root.

Is your SD exfat or fat32?
Also, did you try using the latest kosmos pack?

I could be wrong but if your switch was previously hack with sxos then he would have needed to activate your console. Which means you can try to retrieve the key from their website? You don’t need their dongle

Thanks for the insight, but I believe he just got it working with Kosmos.

kennnnny has got a point, though. If the OP can get the SXOS license working on his Switch, why not? Atmos and SXOS can both work on the same SD card, no? It's better to have more options than less. It compensates for OP's banned Switch.

That's true, forgive me for my lack of knowledge, I've only ever used ReiNX and Atmosphere, so I don't know that much about SX.
