There is no way to convert wads, wads are wads. You install them on vWii for Wii U just like you did on original Wii, using a wad manager. The vWii is identical to an original Wii in most ways.

I don't know where you got that saying because it's not true wads install the same on vWii as Wii. I have personally installed the same wads on Wii as the vWii so I'm not guessing there is no difference or converting to be done.

Well ok maybe that could be true for certain homebrew channels that only work on Wii and not vWii not that I'm aware of any but I'm just guessing that's what it means, but as far as games wads are just wads I assure you. When you downloaded the wad I guarantee you didn't find any wads specifically for the vWii on Wii U, because there's no such thing. You're just downloading a wad from Wii and using it on vWii.

I installed about 10 wads and it filled up my vWii memory and I couldn't install any more because it wouldn't let me without deleting one so if you have a ton of them don't expect to be able to install them at all at the same time.

I'd love some more information on this. I do have a bunch of WAD files, but they were previously used to install WADs on my original Wii. I've seen warnings like this: Ensure any .wad files (channels, forwarders, games, etc) you install are formatted to work properly with vWii first. If you install a .wad formatted for a regular Wii console, you will brick the vWii which will require a vWii NAND backup to restore.

That warning makes me nervous, so I haven't moved forward at all regarding WAD files. But is there a way to convert those files to ones that are compatible with vWii?

Then, once the WAD files are ok - what are the next steps to installing them on vWii, then setting up the injects/forwarders? Thanks!
That's a problem only for system wads. You can install game wads without issues.

Haven't seen this addressed yet, but I'm encountering an Unhandled Exception error Out of memory when trying to manually apply the Icon and Banner images for a Wii Retail Injection (.wbfs). I've tried multiple machines to no avail and using .NET framework 4.8.X.

Since I'm unable to provide an image, see <pastebin>/dknymtzA for the full error output:

The .tga files in question are for The Simpsons Game (RSNP69) and seem to abide by the requirements.
Here is Punch Out! and Simpsons

EDIT: Fixed the issue! Make sure your TGA file extensions are lower case (.tga). The files in the above zip are upper case (.TGA). Quite odd that it doesn't accept it as such but oh well.

Thanks for the clarification. To answer your question, I got that warning info from here: https://wiiu.hacks.guide/vwii-modding But it looks like, as piratesephiroth was saying - that doesn't apply to WAD games.

Question - what about WADs with DLC? For example, Megaman 9 and 10? How is WAD DLC handled?

I'm trying to play dokapon kingdom and it has GameCube Charlie support but doesn't detect my GameCube controller hooked up through the GameCube adapter. Any reason it's not detecting the GameCube controller?

To the best of my knowledge the gamecube adapter will not work with this injector on Wii games but only for Gamecube games.

Hello!
I'm not talking about creator, but something new, new injector or version. Or perhaps an alternative from someone else that does the same job but better.

Since we're two years into the console after Wii U I wouldn't hold your breath.

But this injector can already inject everything that it advertises I have injected hundreds of Wii and GC games. So why don't you try using it?

Thank you for your reply!
I did, but it has issues, at least how i understood. I made a thread about it.

Anyway, i was just wondering about the news and/or alternative software... so thanks about that.

Instead of asking for an alternative software, the question you should be asking is what issues are you having then try to resolve it by asking for help on here.

As far as I'm aware, there isn't anything better than this current injector.

Help! Whenever I try to use it, it gives me this error!
if you're being sarcastic and making fun of me, you can see my posts about issue i'm not mentioning here. hence i just asked for new version because perhaps its posted elsewhere i'm not aware off. But you guys are so hostile and have god complex so its impossible to talk on a human level with yall.

If you're NOT being sarcastic and condesending, and having some genuine issues with the software, ignore all what i said, and....whats the issue? If you posted a pic of issue its not showing.
