Hello, everyone.

I bought a EZ FLASH OMEGA about a month ago and I've experienced two different problems with saving so far. I've searched as much as I could and found similar problems but always with slight differences, so since the answer to some of them was to return the card and ask for another I wanted to make sure whether this problem is the same.

So here we go with the two problems:

1. I was playing Zelda Oracle of Seasons and saving regularly, pressing L+R and waiting five seconds each time, and everything seemed okay. So the last time I tried to play I turned on my GBA-SP, launched the game and the saving was gone. I guess I could have forgotten to press L+R (seems weird to me but I really can't tell), so my question is: if you don't press L+R while saving a GBC game not only you don't save your game but also lose your savings? If that's not the case, what is the problem here?

2. This one is weirder. It happened today when I tried to launch Golden Sun. In this case I remember neatly waiting more than five seconds to turn the console off after saving the last time. So when I turn it on and go to the Golden Sun file the first thing I notice is the image is gone and instead it appears "image not found" (I attached a picture). Then when I pressed "clean boot" it appears briefly the EZ loading screen and after that the screen turns white and that's it. The other games seem to be okay.

So, okay, is there a problem with my Flash Card? Is there anything I can do to recover my Golden Sun saving?

Thank you very much.

Are you sure you have the latest kernel version installed? Out of date versions can cause weird issues like this. There are instructions on how to update here.

I received the flashcard less than three weeks ago and I followed the steps posted on the EZ official website, so yes, I'm pretty sure I have the last version, unless they updated it within these three weeks.

Try backing up EVERYTHING from the SD card, formatting it as FAT32 with the default allocation size, and only copy the games back. It may fix saving issues and it might fix your Golden Sun game.

EDIT: This will make you lose all save data on your games. Games are GBA files and save data may be SAV files. If you copy the save data back, you may get the same weird issues.

Yup, I'll probably try just formatting it. Btw, I connected the SD card to my computer to check the files and I found something quite weird on the "SAVER" file. I know nothing about software nor computers in general so I don't know how to interpret it:

Since I didn't check this file before I don't know what kind of files it should have. I tried oppening the upper files and it doesn't allow me, not even changing its name. Also the last modification date is super weird (2005? 2092??). So, okay, I probably just have one option (formatting), but I'd like to understand why this happened and how to avoid it, because I really did nothing weird, not even the typical "not-waiting-enough" error.

Looking at those filenames, the SD card has errors on it. It can be hard to avoid these weird errors, but they are rare. (Unless you don't wait long enough when saving, then it is common, so maybe wait that little bit longer in the future..)
But, it can be fixed, and you might not lose any data. (If you do lose data, it will be permanently unrecoverable data.) To fix it, go to This PC, right click on the SD card, and click Properties. Click Tools, then click the Check button in Error Checking. It might say that it doesn't need to be checked, but it actually does. (It is a stupid Windows 10 glitch) Click Scan Drive, and if asked, fix any errors. This way, it won't need formatting and you may not lose any save data. Still keep a backup of the SD card though, just in case you need it.

EDIT: You can't do anything with the weird files and folders because they are glitches. Fixing the errors on the SD card will fix them.

Well, I did that and it just transformed the whole "SAVER" folder into just one file and when I ran it on my GBA Golden Sun still didn't run. So since I guess the saving data is totally lost I'm formatting the sd to check if at least that way the game gets fixed and I'll pray for this never happening again Thank you very much for your answers tho!!
