Hardware 1660 ti or 2060 ti?

I want to get a new GPU for my pc and right now the best options for my price range seem to be either the 1660 ti or 2060 ti.
Right now I'm thinking of either this 1660 ti or this 2060 ti.
Price-wise, I'm leaning towards the 1660 ti but I'm interested in the RTX features of the 2060 ti, though I'm not really how much better it is than the 1660 ti simply based on its performance.
What would you guys recommend?

There is no such thing as a RTX2060Ti, however, there is an RTX2060 Super.

What are your pc specs? What resolution are you aiming for? 1080p or 1440p?

The GTX1660Ti will be exceptional for 1080p gaming, the 2060 Super is more for the 1440p crowd, however it's not the best price/performance card in that price range- you're better off buying a Radeon 5700 or a 5700XT for 1440p. Also the 1660Ti is too good for 1080p and not good enough for 1440p, so you could go for something like an RX590 for 1080p. Yeah, Nvidia isn't doing any good value in their budget offerings right now.

Right, my bad, I meant the basic 2060 model, not the super. I'm currently looking for 1080p, and I've never considered going for an AMD card, I'll look into that now. I've heard some pretty iffy stuff in the past about AMD GPU drivers being pretty unreliable though, do you know if that's still true?

Whenever a completely new model/architecture comes out, there usually are bugs in the initial software. But these are usually fixed within a few weeks after release. As of now, AMD drivers are pretty good.

The Radeon RX590 belongs to a very mature platform. So you won't have problems with drivers. It has more than enough power for 1080p gaming. If you can spare upto 350-360usd, you can get the RX5700, which will also out perform a 2060 Super.

The RTX2060 is a discontinued card. If you can get one for under 300 USD, then there might be a case for it.

I have the 1660 TI, it's a good stopgap card and pretty cheap. 20xx cards are bloody expensive IMO.

If you want ray tracing only one option right now out of the ones you listed. That being said the rest of your specs would be nice to know... No sense in buying a 1060 for a core 2 duo

But if RTX isn't a priority all the cards should be fine at 1080

And of course, all my suggestions were for if you want to buy your stuff new. On the used market you get better deals.
I'd also stay away from RTX for now. It's still in it's first generation. Very little to none games have raytracing and there is definitely a performance hit with RTX on. I'd wait till RTX 3XXX or RTX 4XXX to see where the future of real time raytacing goes with games on pc.

The 1660 is on par with the 1070 and in some respects, with the 1080, it's a pretty decent card and a good price. Just my two cents.

The diference between 1660 Ti and 2060 isn't much but the 2060 is winning in benchmarks. The price isn't a big difference either. It's like when i just picked up my laptop. I took a 2060 since it was like 500krs difference.

In the longer run, this will be better for you than the 1660Ti.

I don't know the price in your region. in germany the vega 56 is very often on sale. cheaper and better than 1660 ti. but a little power hungry, which can be fixed with undervolting. but if you are somehow interested in wii u / switch emulation, stick with nvidia.

edit: and I wouldn't buy an gpu with air blower cooler unless you want mount another one. they are extremely loud.

I would stay away from AMD GPU's at the moment. They still haven't fixed the OGL speed bug.

From what I've seen, the 1070 is most of the time 10fps higher than the 1660. I own a 1070 and I love the thing, it'll be a long time from now when I finally upgrade it. Though the 1070 isn't in OP's price range.

Currently, there's no real reason to go for the RTX cards. There's just around 3 games that take advantage of RTX and one or two tech demos like Quake. Minecraft RTX is coming so there's that if you really want it. But in the future it looks like RTX will be a mandatory thing. The new Metro game uses it for global illumination, which is like hundreds of calculations of light sources and stuff.
It's not going to happen any time soon, so buying a 2060 to "future proof" for RTX would be a bad choice as you'd rather future proof with something like a 2070/2080. So I'd just go with the 1660. And besides, the regular cards are also receiving support for RTX, albeit just not as good.

After some consideration, I'm leaning towards the RX 5700, it seems pretty affordable, if slightly outside of my price range and it works with my hardware as far as I can tell (ryzen 2600x CPU, b450 tomahawk motherboard, 16 gigs of ram and 500-watt power supply).

make sure to get one with custom cooler design. I have a rx 580 with a custom cooler design which still should be around 40-41db on max load, it can get pretty annoying I saw those air boost rx 5700 can get to 47db, this is propably unbearable.
