Looks like that time is upon us! Because one spoiler is too many and "no spoilers", was not enough: Special Edition is $80.00 and DLC is in-your-face on Day Ø.

Also, seems to me, owners of a PS4 will get an "early-access" "pass"; sorry, XboneZ and Steam-ers.

I have a feeling the world might get the second episode around August, 2020.

I have my concerns with the ff7 remake. I mean square-enix has really lost their way with truly good games, and I'm afraid they'll end up trashing final fantasy vii. didn't they say they wouldn't even consider a remake unless a newer final fantasy game broke sales records? did that even happen? I know that final fantasy xiii so fewer and fewer sales with parts 2 and 3. they had nice graphics, which reeled people in, but the gameplay was just plain awful.

13 may have been awful as was 15 but all that matters to Square-Enix is sales and both of them are in the top 5 for the series.

Here is the top 5 selling final Fantasy games.

  1. Final Fantasy VII (11 Million)

  2. Final Fantasy X (9 Million)

  3. Final Fantasy VIII (9 Million)

  4. Final Fantasy XIII (7 Million)

  5. Final Fantasy XV (7 Million)

Playstation owners aren't getting any early access. They have been adamant that this is a playstation only title.

My point is being that only playstaion is getting the game they aren't getting anything earlier than anyone else. Such as XboneZ and Steam-ers, as you put it.

No-one believes its a true permanent exclusive, especially with various Microsoft-run sites "accidentally" releasing FFVIIR promo material.

Might just wait for the inevitable Complete Edition with all episodes on PS5.
Especially since it will be a fraction of the price and probably have a whackload of bugfixes. And since there are a million bazillion other things to play in the meantime.

u FAILED miserably!
Maybe there's a deeper meaning....like, FF VII VR with IRL-items on PS5, with better graphics and in a "complete-episode" + DLC bundle, of course.
Failure to the OG fans, yes; miserable failure? Let's take a look in a few years.
