agreed also hope this works wifi car is a bitch t6o do with a broken hand
The black boot with loosen or disconnected WiFi module only applies to o3DS, o3DSXL, and early production o2DS models. The n3DS, n3DSXL, n2DSXL, and newer made o2DS have their WiFi cards integrated to their motherboards.

Edit - If yours happen to fall under the detachable WiFi group, you'll have to disassemble the system and reconnect the card.

I dont exactly understand why right off that the wifi card would be something to target right now when no one has said a thing about the topic to OP. As it stands it was a thing of a deleted boot.firm.

tried it anyways with no luck happened to my old dsi and worked so rip doing

It looks like he's researching multiple causes to black boot symptoms.

@the_radiant_trap, I think you should try the battery trick (if it's not a n2DSXL) and the "restart over with reference custom firmware test setup" approach [post #28 of this thread] before messing with the WiFi module.\

The WiFi card/module isn't the same thing as SD card.

Let's start over. What model 3DS/2DS system do you have?

Woah, this is new. Previous releases of MiniTool Partition Wizard (free edition) didn't pull shit like this before. Sorry bud, thanks for the warning.

MiniTool Adaware Web Companion.png

I installed the Lavasoft Adaware Web Companion and am too finding this difficult to remove. Dafuq did it do making Bing the default search engine.

A program called Revo Uninstaller Pro has no issue uninstalling this, but it's a paid program. I don't see any mention of this bloatware at:
  • Start Menu → Control Panel → Programs and Features

It might be a little different on Windows 10, but to uninstall this, I had to do System Restart before it showed up on my Programs and Features.

Bloatware tends to leave behind orphaned files, so it might be better to use Revo Uninstaller Pro if you can aquire that program.

MiniTool Partition Wizard is still a great reformatting program.. I'll be less inclined to suggest it from now on or at least mention not installing this Adaware alongside it.

If you already tried the:

1) battery trick

and

2) Copy everything off the SD card, reformat it in [ FAT32 | 32 KB cluster size | MBR disk | Primary Partition ] with MiniTool Partition Wizard, full Write + Verify tested it empty with H2testw (scanned for hardware defects), and attempt booting the o3DS with SafeB9SInstaller renamed as boot.firm and Luma3DS v7.0.5 (arm9loaderhax.bin, in case you have older CFW),

you may need to disassemble o3DS and check if the WiFi module has popped off. Be careful as there are flex cables (especially shoulder buttons) that can be easily ripped when removing the shell.

Other than that, try looking for signs of activity through Recovery Mode, Luma3DS chainloader (START), and Luma3DS v9.1 configuration (SELECT) when turning it on.
