Hi,

Before I try it myself, anyone know if SX OS recognises 2 USB HDD drives connected to the Switch dock at same time.

I'm wondering if I can mount and run xcis from either Drive A or Drive B when both are connected or whether only
one connected drive is recognised.

Thanks!

Believe you can only run one drive at once, beside you would want to use a y cable to power the HDD, or you gonna burn out your port as it doesn't supply enough power. Then again just buy a SSD if a regular HDD scan is too slow for you.

I've been using one without a y cable for months without issues. It's a WB MyPassport with 4 TB.
That was an issue on the Wii U but not always on the Switch. A y cable might be better though.
i have a usb dock station and run 2 hdd, one ide and one sata and it scans both
Interesting indeed. Didn't know that.
On the other hand there's no size limit for SX OS HDDs so buying a big one seems more convenient.

I just tried with 2 WD My Books each 10TB with external power.
Could only get one drive recognised.
Tried both ports on the dock and a 3 port hub as well as configuring both directories to the same or different locations but no luck,
only got the xci listing from the drive that appeared to boot up first.

@Retroboy out of interest do you have a link to the dock station you use?

Thanks.
Not sure it’ll work due to the max sizes mentioned but gives me ideas to look into.

Edit:

this one may work for me, 2x10TB support
20 TB? are there even 10 TB worth of switch games in the entire library?

i have a usb dock station and run 2 hdd, one ide and one sata and it scans both
that is interesting so does it work with one USB port and a hub , have you tried it?
