Introduction:
Hello! Not sure if this is the right thread but here is the tutorial on how to hack your PSP Street!
Not sure if it works on the 1000,2000 and 3000 models but all I know is that this works on the PSP Street Models (PSP E1000, E1001, E1002, E1003, E1004, etc).

BEFORE YOU START:
Make sure that your PSP version is on 6.60! I'm not sure if it'll work on 6.61 but I don't recommend hacking your PSP Street at version 6.61!
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! It ain't my fault if your broke your PSP! :)

How to hack your PSP Street Model (PSP E1000, E1001, E1002, E1003, E1004, etc)

What you need:
  • Your PSP
  • A Mini USB Cable
  • A PC (Computer, Laptop, anything that works for you)

Getting your files sorted:
  1. Download the attached file "psp.rar" (down below).
  2. Extract the "psp.rar" file (this should give you 2 files called "launcher" and "installer").
  3. Copy the 2 files that you just extracted.
  4. Turn on your PSP, plug the Mini USB to the PC, connect your PSP to the computer and make sure that it is on USB Mode.
  5. Now, paste the "launcher" and the "installer" files in the GAME folder (the GAME folder is in your PSP folder)
The "Hacking" part:

  1. Disconnect your PSP and go to "Game".
  2. Scroll down to Memory stick.
  3. Click "LME Installer for 6.60"
  4. Once the Installer pops up, it'll tell you to click X, so do that.
  5. Your PSP should restart after it installs some stuff into your PSP.
  6. Now, go to "Game", scroll down to Memory stick and click on "LME Launcher for 6.60".
  7. Just wait for it.....
  8. That's all you gotta do! Your PSP is now hacked! You can now download PSP games for free and do whatever you want with it!

Conclusion:
Hope this works and that it helped you hacked your PSP Street! Just to let you know as well that this is not a permanent mod and that you'll have to go the "LME Launcher for 6.60" every time you have turned off your PSP! But it should take you around a couple of seconds, nothing too long.
If your PSP is on sleep mode, you will not have to go to the launcher every time.

That's all for now! :)

Yes, and also on the N1000 (Go) - that's true of all modern temporary CFWs (LME and, by default, PRO)

I'm not sure if it'll work on 6.61 but I don't recommend hacking your PSP Street at version 6.61!
I do ;) - of course with a 6.61 CFW, not a 6.60 one

you'll have to go the "LME Launcher for 6.60" every time you have turned off your PSP! But it should take you around a couple of seconds, nothing too long.
You can use Lightspeed or Darkspeed (depending on which one of the two major CFWs you use) to replace Music Unlimited or Digital Comics with a cfw launcher - not only this means it will be well separated from entertainment software, but if you pick the latter option it will be in the Extras column (which in American and European regions does nothing else, and can be hidden while already running CFW by setting the region to one of the debug ones)!

Yeah, my bad, only Low Custom Firmware Ner0n supports the E apparently.
Street supports both LME and PRO. Just not permanent ones. I use 6.60 Pro C Fix3 on my Street E-1004. Hitting fast recovery every full shutdown and waiting 6 seconds isn't all that long to wait.

both of which work well in potplayer
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
