hey guys. I'm new to modding the Wii U so go easy on me huh?....lol. I don't even know if I'm in the right place for this question but here goes. I modded my 5.5.3 Wii U using the Haxchi method so I have the haxchi, wup installer, and the loadline, homebrew, and the mocha CFW on it. I would like to know, with me using this method, how can I install a custom menu onto me Wii now and which files would I need to do it and the method?

extremely dangerous to do so. the only way I know of is through an app (forgot the name of), and it's not permanent. you have to redo it each time you turn the system on. you're talking about the wii u menu, right?

Yes, I'm referring to the Wii U menu where you click on all your games, apps, etc. But if it's too dangerous to mess around with I'll just leave it alone. I just wanted to do it because there are only so many slots for games. Once I fill up all the slots I don't know what or where any new installs will go after that or how to get to them.

You dont need mocha cfw when haxchi is already installed.

Like I said, I'm new to this. All I know is some things I try to install using wup installer won't install without running mocha first, like a pool game I downloaded and it errors out telling me something about needing signature files first. The tutorial I followed was on Youtube to do all this and I'm not even sure I did it all right because in the tutorial he has the Loadline GX on his home screen, I don't. He can also get into homebrew with the icon after the first boot, I can't. It goes to a black screen and hangs on me. The only way I can get into homebrew on my system is to run haxchi while holding the "A" button on first boot and even after it's running and I go back in, I still have to use the "A" button to get it to load.

afaik, the wii u mod is just for aesthetics. you'll still be bound to 300 titles.

Ah. I didn't know that but now I do so thanks for that little tidbit. I have installed about 7 games so far through wup installer and they all installed fine and load/play fine.(except for the before mentioned pool game that was being a bitch but I got it to work by loading mocha first). I do have some games that say "(fakesign)" at the end of the file and I have no idea what that means.

Thats the reason why you should click on haxchi first after powering on the console. Haxchi will do the rest ;)
Doing some more research, I discovered WHY some games need mocha running first. it's due to them being the "fakesign" files that apparently need mocha running in order to install properly. Something to do with these files can't be installed to the sysnand or something like that? Either way, I'm learning and making progress to that end. Thanks for the help guys!

Again...if you have haxchi already installed...you don't need mocha cfw anymore. Click only on the haxchi icon after turning on the console and you have all what you need to install non legit games or homebrew software.

Then mine must be setup wrong cause I have to run mocha to get fake sign files to install right.

Is your haxchi compatible game a legit title? Bought in the eshop i mean? Read this. Here is what Haxchi is doing
No. My games are downloads. I had an issue last night with a few games I installed that all of a sudden started telling me the game wouldn't run because the account it was created on had been deleted and I needed to redownload the game. I discovered that it was all the fake sign files doing it. I then discovered that not only do I have to run mocha to install them properly, mocha has to be running to play them. I'm fine with that being the case as long as the games run. But being new to this and someone telling me I don't need mocha as long as I have haxchi just confuses me more because I know what my system is doing and it's not doing what you say it should be doing.....lol

I checked out that link you gave but I don't understand it totally. The part that explains the haxchi exploit kinda makes sense to me. I believe I have the "standard" haxchi installed on my system because that's exactly how it's acting. The other part about the virtual ds console I totally don't understand sorry.

Read this. This should be better detailed for you to understand.

Did you buy your game in the eShop? I mean that for Haxchi. I just do not want to know more. It can not be that confusing. If Haxchi is installed on your console, you do not need MochaCFW. What Mocha does in the case then Haxchi. The game for Haxchi must have been bought but then. A non legit title will not work.

Yes, I got the brain age game. I have been reading up on those links and I think I didn't finish the install. I am doing it manually instead of running the coolboot option and autorun. So If I go in there and do the coldboot and auto run option, I should just be able to remove mocha after that and everything will run as it should right?
