Okay guys, so I got my RCM Loader One in the mail today!

I updated the hekate 4.8 payload.bin on my RCM Loader One to Hekate 4.10.1's payload.bin.

I also deleted all my atmosphere files/folders on my SD card (The same files that come with the Atmosphere download from github).

Then I copied over all the NEW Atmosphere files from the github zip.

I was updating from Atmosphere 8.something to the newest Atmosphere 9.1.0

Now every time I turn on my switch (With my new RCM Loader One and the RCM Jig) it just shows the Kosmos boot screen, then the next boot logo, then goes back to Kosmos boot screen and just keeps repeating.

I turned my switch off by holding the power button down for a few seconds.

How can I fix this? I saw something the other day where someone was having the same issue with updating to atmosphere 9.1.0.

Can someone just explain to me how I am supposed to update atmosphere exactly? Or why is this issue happening?

Edit: P.S - I deleted all the atmosphere files that I had put onto my SD card in order to "try" to update to 9.1.0. I replaced them with the backup of my original Atmosphere 8.something files that I made a backup of before I "tried" to update to 9.1.0. Now my switch boots correctly. So I am sure that either I messed up somewhere when trying to update atmosphere, or somethign erlse happened with the update.

So can someone please just help me, and explain to me exactly what to do with the atmosphere 9.1.0 zip that I downloaded from github? Which files do I replace on my SD card, and which ones do I delete? if any? Please jsut step by step what to do?

Thanks in advance! ;]

Before you do anything, you should make a NAND backup using the latest version of Hekate. Put it somewhere safe, preferably on the cloud.

After that, it's recommended that you do the following:
  1. Remove all traces of Kosmos/Atmosphere from your SD card
  2. Download Atmosphere 0.9.1
  3. Download the most recent fusee-primary (next to the Atmosphere download)
  4. Download the signature patches
  5. Put Atmosphere onto your SD card
  6. Put the signature patches onto your SD card
  7. Boot your Switch from RCM using fusee-primary

Thanks! I made a NAND backup when I first modded my switch, Do I need to make another? and what do you mean by "remove all traces of kosmos/atmosphere on my sd card"? Because I believe that is where I went wrong when I tried to update atmosphere the first time, like I said in my post. I was pretty sure I had deleted all the kosmos/atmosphere files...

Which files do I need to delete?

Also, I am not sure how to set up my RCM Loader/Switch to boot using Fusee-primary...

I am so sorry but I am SUPER new to the switch scene, The last thing I modded was a PSVita like 2 years ago, and a 2DS like 4-5 years ago.

Comparing your post to what I did, the only thing that I did not do was copy over the new Fusee-primary.bin, I don't know how but I seemed to have forgotten to do it lol

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Okay! Omg I got it working, I realized that when I first tried to update, When I deleted the files off my SD Card, I deleted my Sig Patches, and never replaced them, ALSO, Like I said earlier... I forgot to update the fusee-primary.bin.

Now it is booting correctly! Thank you so much!

By the way, this is how I did it this time!

1. Replaced fusee-primary.bin inside of atmosphere/payloads
2. Moved ALL the files/folders from the Atmosphere 9.1.0 zip file to the ROOT of my SD card, REPLACING ALL FILEs/FOLDERS.
3. Profit.

It was easier than I thought lol

Thanks again!

No, you do not need to make a new NAND backup.

I know this is off topic, but would you mind answering me one more question? if not then just don't reply xD I get it, I know I can be a pain sometimes lol.

If I ever want to go back to OFW to play games online that I own, how exactly do I go about that process? I always assumed just format my SD card, and then go back to my old NAND, but I don't know exactly how to do that....

You can restore your old NAND using Hekate, and then you can use OFW to play online. However, Atmosphere supports emuNAND now, and it would probably be easier to use that so you can easily go back and forth between a clean sysNAND for online play and a dirty/offline emuNAND for hacking and piracy.

Yeah I heard about that, IS it similar to EmuNAND on the 3ds?

Also, do you know of a good guide to running EmuNAND with Atmosphere? I looked into it a slight bit, but it seemed EXTREMELY complicated to me...

Functionally, it's very similar to how emuNAND works on the 3DS. If you care about online play, you can use a clean sysNAND with your legitimately purchased games, and you can use a dirty emuNAND that's always kept offline to play your pirated games and use homebrew.

I don't know which guide is the best, since I don't use emuNAND. There are various tutorials here on GBATemp.

Oddly enough.... I just turned my switch off, and turned it back on, and now it wont boot into atmosphere again... it's doing the same exact thing it did last time....

I turned it off so I could put the new sig patches release on my SD card because I had an older release.

All I did was copy over the new sig patches atmosphere folder and replace my sig patches files.

Now I am getting a headache

I literally plugged my SD card into my PC, opened the sig patches ZIP that you sent me the link for, and dragged the atmosphere folder onto my SD card, and OVERWROTE ALL.

That was it....

I don't understand why its messed up again now...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, I just deleted all the sig patches files on my Sd card, and then I put back the ones I had before trying to update sig patches, and now my switch boots fine...

I don't get it... really lol.

Good thing I made a backups of my SD card before doing nay of this... because if I didn't, then I wouldn't have been able to put the old sig patches back.
