Hi again. I'm trying to install nsps through tinfoil and nut. But for some reason my switch just constantly connects and reconnects.

Get a new cable, Switch is picky about which cable they like.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

got another larger memory card, do i need to re-install everything like create saves again, create new emuNand?

Is there a easy way to copy the hidden emuNand which i can just restore and not have to worry saves too?

Clone it and then re-partition the extra storage if you are going to a higher size.

Darn well it was a cheap one from Walmart, weird that seems to work for the one program okay and I'm able to inject payloads though. But I guess I should be just happy it does that at least.

Hi,

Looking for some advice from the resident geniuses on here! I'm trying to play local co op on minecraft with two switches (both sxos and on the latest fw). It seems like we have to be 'friends' to play co op but the only way to do that is to go online - both are on stealth mode at the moment. Is there any other way to become 'friends' or play minecraft co op locally? Would both consoles be banned if they went online briefly to confirm the friend request?

Appreciate any help!

Hello All,

New to the scene and have a question. I have recently hacked my Switch with the newest version of Atmosphere and I'm on OFW 7.0.1 No issues at all with the process. My question is if i want to update to the newest official firmware am I better off using ChoiDujourNX and not burn fuses or can I just boot up the official firmware and update from the servers then go back to my CFW? I understand doing that will make it impossible for me to downgrade as i will burn a fuse. If the newest firmware is able to handle everything the previous firmware could why would you need to downgrade and go back? That's where I'm a little lost. The only time I could see it happening is if I update the Switch the DAY of a new firmware and nothing works and would have to go back. I wouldn't do that until I knew the new firmware was stable with CFW's anyway.

Thanks for your time guys

Here's my noob question, it's kinda like the guy's above me actually.

I have a Switch with SX OS Pro and it works great so I haven't updated it in a long time, in fact I'm still on OFW 5.0 or something like that. I just want to confirm if I can update to OFW 8.0.1 and what's the best way to do it in that case, I'm on the latest beta SX OS FW which says it's compatible.

Or should I stay on OFW 5.0 and just update emuNAND to 8.0.1? I know I can use ChoiDujourNX for that, but just considering my options before I possibly do something stupid.

I only ever boot into SX OS to play but I want to keep the option open to boot into OFW, so I don't want Auto RCM, right? I have a dongle and didn't hardmod my control. Thanks in advance!

I have an Original cartridge from MARIO&RABBIDS KINGDOM BATTLE. That one contains the dutch language version. The ones I could find as XCI is the WORLD version without the dutch language. So now I was wondering if I could use my Original cartridge and use SX DUMPER from SX for that (I have an SX OS licence).
Could you explain what I need to do for that please? I could not find a manual or instructions. Do I need something like key's or cert or... because I'm not so good at that?
Just use SX Dumper to dump the .XCI file into your SD card then use SX OS or SX Installer to launch the .XCI file.

Insta-bans are a myth however you can get flagged for going online even for a split second which you need to do in order to become 'friends'

The point of downgrading is mainly in case a better exploit is released on a lower firmware such as the hypothetical and coveted untethered coldboot which has a better chance of being released on lower firmware versions than higher ones. If you don't care about future exploits and/or content with the current exploit, you can burn fuses whenever you update. However there is nothing to lose from updating without burning fuses aside from being forced to use AutoRCM which isn't that bad since AutoRCM is very useful. Anyway, 7.X and 8.0.1 share the same amount of fuses so if you already updated normally to 7.0.1, you will not burn any more fuses by updating to the latest firmware.

You would only need to update SysNAND if you want to play online, update your games online, use the eShop, or try newer games. If none of those apply to you, then you can just update EmuNAND with ChoiDujourNX to whatever firmware version you want.

I got a 2tb passport drive plugged into switch it works beautifully with sx os,,,

can anyone tell me if I can point the thing to install this stuff to the HDD??

i think despite the games being on the hdd its installing them to the sd card or trying and ran out of room fast! :(

If not thats what I wanted to know, you basically just have to install the game and update each time I suppose? tedious if so, hoping that theres a way to use the external hdd storage for all this to avoid the load times and or installing between game launches

I don't know whether this question has been answered or not, but, is it possible to downgrade a game if you have installed a higher version of it? For example, I have version 1.0.5 of Mortal kombat 11 and I want to go back to 1.0.4. I tried to do so, but the game asks for an update. Is there any possible method?

My Switch is running on firmware 5.1 with SXOS PRO. Trying to play new games and it wont let me. Tried repackaging and still, nothing. Please help.
What is a "safe/compatible" firmware I can update to? If any. Or is there something new that I haven't heard of that will let me play new "firmwared/coded" games without having to update. Thanks.

yo, so i need some guidance on a little situation i got myself in.
i have been running atmosphere on my switch with now problems really. was running it on 8.0 had nsps installed with no issues. well today the update option was accidentally pressed on the start up of a game. usually jus ran the games without the update but slipped up this time. my firmware is now at 8.0.1 and atmosphere is not booting up now, just stays on a black screen after i inject the payload. first time this has happened and unfortunately its stuck on autorcm too. ive managed to get into the stock os thru hekate but thats pretty much where im stuck now. is there a way to downgrade it? or am i possibly missing some files? have the latest atmosphere and patches. any help would be appreciated

No CFW can install anything to external HDDs. Only SX OS currently can mount .XCI files from the HDD but this is a live mounting not a permanent installation. You could just spring for a bigger SD card since all CFW support installation onto that.

You will have to use the 'Reset Required Firmware Version' of DevMenu. Unfortunately I cannot link you to DevMenu but Google is your friend.

Games have hard-coded firmware requirements that cannot be bypassed or ignored. The only way around them is by updating your firmware. I personally recommend updating to 7.0.1 as there is nothing that requires being on firmware 8.X aside from online play which is a bad idea with a hacked console anyways.

You can hack (jailbreaking isn't the correct term here) it but bans will continue to be distributed until the console's end of life.

Is your SD card formatted as exFAT? If yes, reformat it to FAT32. If your SD card is already FAT32, try another CFW such as ReiNX to see if your issue persists.

So, I've hit a wall. My google-fu has failed me. the problem.

Ive been playing on a hacked switch 3+ months now, no problems and I'm running OFW 7. Just recently i enabled autoRCM. 1 week ago while playing golf story the game crashed and the switch became completely unresponsive. So I forcefully powered it down and left it for a couple of days. When I got around to it I plugged the switch into my laptop as usual and TegraRCM recognised a RCM device and I sent a payload, successfully according to TegraRCM but i get nothing from my switch. I dont think its low battery

My googling leads me to believe that if its got enough juice to register as an RCM device i should be able to inject a payload and get it onto a charger from there if it is low battery. I hope someone has some experience with this particular problem.

Try other USB ports, USB cables, or other devices to send payloads with.

I have a fully modded switch on 6.2.0 is there any reason to update to something newer, and if so how would I do that safely?
Newer games, updates, and DLC require higher firmware to run which cannot be bypassed or spoofed. The best way of updating is with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX.

I will get a switch soon. What if I want to hack my switch but later decide to play online?

I went through some threads and this is how its done?

HACK:
Hack switch - backup nand - use homebrew/backup loaders

UNHACK:
restore nand - factory reset and delete memory card - use eshop and play online again

Am I right or is something wrong? I just want to make sure if its worth to hack the switch and buy a second unhacked switch or just undo all the modded stuff.
