Hi guys, I can reccommend the emulator called "Speccy" you can then load any game you would like it then saves to .SNA :) I just tried it myself and can now play manic miner on my 3ds!

Not sure how I missed this when it first appeared, but I thank you.
This will take me back... 1982... Best. Christmas. Ever. ...48k Spectrum, Maziacs and Atic Atac.
...still own that Spectrum, but unfortunately it's no longer operational (keyboard ribbon connector has perished).

Maziacs still holds its own when it comes to tension. I used to watch my dad and older brother play it, it was too scary for me when I was small. I have a Spectrum+ which still works I suspect.

Finally got games working and can play jetpac at last it was the very first game I ever bought and I got it on day of release who would of though over 30 years later I would still be playing it and still finding it to be totally awesome

Jetpac is definetly still awesome, I played it recently. I was just wondering if there's any update to this emulator ? It runs a bit slow on my O3DS! Also is there a way to go back to the game selection menu, so you can choose another game? L+R+Start takes me back to the homebrew launcher menu.

Is there a windows tool (that works on windows 7/8/10) to convert .z80 to .sna?
Could not find any working on http://www.worldofspectrum.org/utilities.html

[EDIT1]
Ok found a temporary solution, installed the 30 day trial version of speculator for windows, loaded the .z80 rom and after loading used save as and choose to save as "Mirage Microdriver Snapshot *.sna" removed the .z80 rom and loaded the .sna file into speculator and it ran fine, so next is testing it on the 3ds emu :)

[EDIT2]
Working :) (I had a version of Atic Atac in .z80 format)
So here's a picture of the converted .z80 to .sna with speculator (windows) running on the 3DS ZX Spectrum emu.

I just love it that the Circle Pad is supported when you choose joystick at start of the game, makes this game so much enjoyable :) (D-Pad also works fine, but Circle Pad is the way to go for this game)

@seagal112 , thanks, really great job on bringing this emu to us :)

[EDIT3] Seems it was already posted on top of this page, speccy also can save as sna :) (stupidly overlooked)
@seagal112 i suppose it only runs 48k games as it only supports .sna? Also is there a way to exit to the game select screen instead of closing the emu and restarting?

Nosferatu always creeped me out when I was a kid. the gloomy graphics and the spiders :S

Anyhow, has anyone got, or could anyone make lazy ol' ody a .cia versoin of this at all?
I'd be soooo grateful. we've finally got this and Breadbox and I can't really use them as there's no .cia version :\

@seagal112 Hi mate, any news on a update of this emulator? Any chance of implementing speed controls, ie to speed or slow the emulation down? How about sound?

What I would also like to see implemented is speed/frame rate controls, the ability to stretch/scale the display and sound pretty please!

Excuse my Necromancy but has this emulator ever been updated so it works on modern systems?

Got a New 2DS XL recently so it has the latest CFW etc. however the emulator just segfaults on my system when run from the homebrew launcher :(

Would be quite nice to use the criminally underappreciated Speccy software on the 3DS. (Yes, I have ZX DS and it works from the DS card but it's running everything in 256x192 which means blurriness on the 3DS :()

The RetroArch emulation bundle includes a Spectrum core called Fuse. That would probably be the best option for running Spectrum software on 3DS.

Aye, FUSE is good but the Retroarch port of it isn't, no useful keyboard support at all. In the end I DLDI patched ZX:DS and replaced the menu binary on my old DSTT with it so my now redundant DS Lite is now a dedicated Spectrum emulator (something it does very well since the native resolution of the displays are the same, 256x192)
