I'm just amazed how salty people get because someone who is working on a CFW made something that they wanted to work on their CFW. Are y'all gonna act the same way if SciresM did something similar to atmo?

Very good example, dmnt, the cheat engine that edizon uses within atmos. All of the memory editing functions only work on atmos. I got that working on reinx because reinx uses some of atmos sysmodules. Malicious followers would rather look at that negatively and just continue to blindly say that reinx is a fork of atmos. But whatever, not my problem. :)

Also, I'm pretty sure that utilizing sept requires you to use atmo's custom security monitor, but you never see anyone talking about that either.

Noone is talking, because every CFW here is based on atmosphere.

You're thinking too narrowly though. If someone would want to make a new CFW, in order to use sept they would be forced to be based off of atmo. That's a hell of a stranglehold don't you think?

That at least was agree'd upon to avoid burning the current exploit.

I'd love to see your analysis of the code.

You just need to provide a secmon, not specifically Atmosphere’s. If you don’t like using atmosphere’s make your own secmon reimplementation already

Why asking for an analysis, the NX_Sysmodules says straight in the description that it's forked from atmosphere, and reinx now bundles exo (i'm aware that it has now become a requirement, etc). To the people who'd say "the sysmodules dont make the cfw", well it makes a major part of it, and i'd like to see what would the people do, if you only distributed the core reinx without the sysmodules (that'd mean no hb, no cheats, no layered fs, etc) it would leave you with a way to boot "differently" stock, optionally with patches (basically what hekate/fusee would do minus backup/restore). And I don't like either that it's perceived wrong, the licenses/terms of usage are respected, and all is well. So just use what you think is best, but make yourself the opinion instead of collecting assumptions, so that we can get back on topic, aka DeltaLaunch.

But why is a reimplemetation necessary? Why can't you utilize Sept with the secmon horizon provides? Not everyone wants to reimplement everything the system already does.

Since it was decided the exploit was not to be burned, either you have your own way to sign your sept, or you use the one available. And you're on your own if you don't have one, i wouldn't see any valid complaint possible. It's like asking the exploit indirectly, i don't see what's wrong with another alternative to exo, if anything it could lead to a healthy competition.

Getting the package1 key for higher firmwares is impossible without burning any valuable exploits

Not what I asked about, but yes, back to Delta.

More like not what you wanted to hear, because i did my best to answer you with my "analysis". We don't need unnecessary drama, when the source is just out there. I may have pressed the matter a bit too much, but wanted to be clear on that point. Will stop now :)

This will be the official thread for things related to ReiNX's DeltaLaunch.

What is DeltaLaunch?:
Its a WIP qlaunch (home menu) rewrite for ReiNX. It got its name from Nasa's delta series rockets.

Features:
  • Full customization/theming
  • Stand-alone homebrew button
  • And much more!
Theme template:
SoonTM

Config params:
https://reisyukaku.org/switch/Delta/

Discord: https://discord.gg/NxpeNwz

Will iron this out over time.

Would love to take a look at this but I'm unclear on how to install DeltaLaunch. I see there's a BIN and an NSP within a very specifically named folder, so I'm assuming there's a bit of magic to this. Any advice? I'd love to give it a go and maybe post a screenshot back here for others to see.

I think you're missing the point. The security monitor is loaded after package1. You shouldn't need a custom secmon and if all Sept does is grab keys to decrypt package1.

I think YOU missed MY point, you can't sign sept yourself. So you can't alter sept to remove the dependency to a custom secmon, and can't complain about it either, since you wouldn't even be able to do all that without sept. Since, unless i miss anything (got any exploit in store i don't know of?), you can't do your own sept, you have to do with it, regardless of the design choices. The more alternatives the better, but you're stuck here, unless you have some glitching experience.

secmon is IN package1. I’m sure there’s some technical reason that it doesn’t decrypt package1, if it could, Scires probably would’ve allowed it to do so

Do you have a fatal screen or anything that could help us diagnose what's wrong?
sorry i do not at the moment, just wondering if anyone managed to get anything working id love to see whats possible theme wise with delta
