Lakka just works (controls and everything, stock controllers, handheld mode). Settings for Dolphin (GC) are: Default everything. Driver settings Vulkan, maybe (more performance). 16:9 hack enabled - maybe.

Reicast (DC) doesnt support Vulkan, so you have to switch back to gl. 16:9 hack enabled. Pixel accurate instead of triangle accurate for Shenmue (polygon glitches gone), rest default.

With Lakka Fat32 is a must, but you can use it on an existing SDcard, you also use on Horizon, no issues.

I can't get any controls working on Dolphin at all, tried docked, hand-held and joycons detached but yeah.. It'll recognise them within the controllers section but won't actually work in game.

Also gave my GC adapter with GC controller attached a go and that also won't work. I probably need to enter another command into terminal to get things going but I was sure I've done all the right commands.

On the compiled build of Lakka pinned to the patreons-general discord channel for m4xw's patreon supporters, controls with dolphin just work.

The build in general only supports handheld mode with default controllers on them. If you use the Hori digipad left joycon for example, both joycons wont initialize. (Not even in the Retroarch interface.) So default joycons, handheld mode - the mentioned build, and then everything just works. :)

Sound works as well, btw.

(Docked doesnt work, bluetooth controlles dont work, ...)

Biggest issue for usability is - no reboot to payload, and no sleep mode (so you will have to use your dongle frequently).

For most DC and GC games minimal overclock of GPU to 384 MHz and CPU to 1.2 GHz is something you should do. For DC, some FMV sequences stutter unless you set CPU OC to 1.7 GHz (which I dont run with all the time). Thats about all.

PSP GTA - Vice City Stories also has no load in judder on Lakka apparently. :)

Oh? I'm getting on that hahah I'm in his Patreons Only discord so ill give it a download.
I have my lakka set to Autoboot so it's not too much of an issue.
Thanks for letting me know, I've been using the one on Gbatemp in the main post.

No problem. :)

I'm trying Lakka from the Patreons Only discord now and it works great. Only issue I'm seeing is intense slowdown and FPS drops in cutscenes.. Do you just keep default settings or do you have to change core settings?

I tried the CPU and GPU overclock settings you recommended but Super Mario Sunshines fmv's are intensely slow. Gameplay itself depending on the game is ok though.. I noticed turning down overclock for CPU or GPU just has a negative effect on every game.

Ive also changed the Video Driver to Vulkan and turned on Threaded Video and turned off Vsync and GPU sync. It's made a tiny bit of a difference but im still having these lag issues with certain games in gameplay aswell as fmv.

The dreamcast performance in L4T Lakka looks superb! I'm dreaming about the day I can play Soul Calibur, Virtua Tennis and Shenmue on Switch.
I'm hoping we could see similar results with a full speed Reicast Retroarch core through Horizon in the near future?
If anyone is specifically working on this, I'd be happy to donate

I think its fairly safe to say you will never see the same performance on Horizon as on LAKKA for dreamcast emulation. Even with optimisation and tweaking L4T will always offer things Horizon can't, either FPS or graphical improvements. For every game Horizon may get running at full speed LAKKA will probably get 10X the amount. Maybe if a switch pro is released with greatly improved specs which eventually gets cracked, that will be your answer :P.

Tried ppsspp on lakka it works but with some glitches and stutters and ppsspp on retroarch on cfw just crashes even with assets folder in placed does this only work on exfat?

Launch RetroArch / HBL with "R" on a game (I use Pokemon Quest) To get full RAM access to play N64 / PSP games in Horizon. Cannot launch with album because that wouldn't get full RAM access. And you can install an NSP but that can risk ban if you play online.

Can I ask how the RetroNX Patreons version of Lakka holds up against the Latest L4T Ubuntu? Which one are you finding runs games better ;) provided using the same settings? Im mainly interested in Gamecube emulation, although any feedback at all is welcome :).

For Gamecube/Wii Lakka and Ubuntu should perform about the same, Lakka may be a bit more buggy since it’s using an older version of dolphin

Skies of Arcadia (EU version 60 Hz patched) is playable
I am super interested in Skies of Arcadia. Looks like there are 3 versions out there, Game Cube, Wii, and DreamCast. Which one would you say is worth the best shot for best quality of playing and speed on the switch?

Im a huge fan, tried the GameCube versions but it lagged a lot. The Dreamcast played great. For soundtrack quality the Dreamcast wins, the GameCube version has the Dreamcast DLC, extra characters, less battle encounters than the Dreamcast that has a lot, it also has higher resolution models but inferior quality on soundtrack. I personally would go with the GameCube version but for me anyway lags a lot as of now.

There is no Wii version of Skies of Arcadia.

I don't like doing that so I use RetroArch nsp with R to get full RAM access and I am good.

I have a backup nand before it so I am good again, lol!
Backup nand wont help - once the console is banned, its banned on nintendo's side, not the console side. If you install NSPs (homebrew or otherwise) you can never go online unless you restore that backup. Go online once and you will be part of a future ban wave.

I don't register to Nintendo and never online at all.
