Switch CFW 6.2 AutoRCM (4.2 waiting)....Atmosphere 8.4 (yea - need to update this Dinosaur). San Disk 256 GB ExFat card (no issues) with about 5gb remaining. This early twilight morning I'm at "the store".... download a few smaller -all-free-games- this time, and getting a few updates. I don't remember doing it but guess I got an update for Mario Odyssey.....this STORE doesn't have any 1st party game downloads - - but does have 1st party updates I guess. LOTS of other switch game downloads (and Updates/DLC).....over 400 US games I'd say. *I haven't played the original Odyssey except to be sure it worked when installed about a month ago - only about 10 minutes of play. Well I try it after I see it at the near "beginning" of the lineup of games on main screen, after I finished with the STORE....so this is telling me I did update it. When I try it I get the switch logo with the animated joycon in lower right as it should - but then the screen just freezes. Hard reset with power button for 8+ seconds. I uninstall the update only with Goldleaf with no help. Game won't boot now - I see a nag for game update required and no way around it. Delete the game and install fresh without update, and still nag for update of course with no game boot. Install my V1.3 update (different download site) *can't see the download option at the store now --> it knows if you've been updated and no option for updating a prior successful update again. Anyway with an update the game freezes after start of B&W animation. I need to update to 8.0 (Odyssey game update says keys 5.1 I believe)....or did I download a soured patch/update and I'm locked out of the game now?

Basically I updated Super Mario Odyssey with downloaded v1.3 update *Live download/update from "community" online source.

Now I get the black screen with little white icons top /bottom.... *lower right will "twitch" and now requires hard reset (power button 8+ seconds).

I remove update, getting NAG for update "common". Remove game now....install game again....Nag (common) and then reinstall update -

I'm back to the locked boot screen when I try to start again -*switch icon bottom right will "twitch" once as before (common).

What happened......will an update to 8.0 fix?

All other games and homebrew work fine.

Running Atmosphere 8.4 on Sys 6.2 with 256 GB SD card "ExFat" with 5 GB remaining.

Using Goldleaf to reinstall NSP game & update (now).

Does the Switch has multiple displays? Because the new Switch I got is a little yellow, compared to my origin one, which is pure white. (The Image)

Hey all.
So I downloaded the latest version of atmosphere - 0.8.9.
I copied the files over and into the old atmosphere folder (v: 0.8.3).
I restarted the Switch, choose to load to the CFW as normal.

Switch hangs to black screen.

Have i done this wrong?
Do I need to do more than just copy over my old Atmosphere folder??

Thanks. :)

Hello guys
I'm a noob around here and have a time hard finding answers for my specific situation.

Bought a switch a while back. It's 5.0.1 OFW.
Did some exploits on it, using SX pro.

Then emunand came in. Installed a 7.0.1 CFW on 2 sd cards.

Everything works fine, except that I like to keep my backups clean and go through .xci instead of .nsps. So I started packing xci's+nsp's, as well as multiple nsp's, in single XCI files.
I get errors building some of those through NSC_Builder, that I think are related to later keys missing.

I grabbed my keys in 2 different ways : lockpick, and lockpick rcm. Both end up with 113 or 114 results.

From what I understand, I need to update my switch to a later firmware to get more recent keys.
I don't know if I can get those keys while in 7.0.1 CFW ? from what I understand lockpick_rcm was made precisely because some keys are not dumpable while in OS environment so I assume it's not doable ?

Long story short :
What do you advise me to do to get more recent keys ? In a reversible way if possible.
Should I upgrade my ofw ? in the natural, official, nintendo way ? ChoiduJour?

Thanks !
How do you want to dump keys which don't exist on your console? Only way to get them for you is to search them up on the internet.

Image is missing. Never heard that the switch comes with different displays.

Replace all old files with the latest Kosmos release.

So i have a question. My father said that the nintendo switch hardware has a firmware built into it that records data, invluding games played even on cfw, and that data would be sent to the RAM in the motherboard.he said that if i go online even in ofw, the data would be seen by ninty and they would ban me by using the hash code linked to my switc's serial code. is this true?BTW my dad said this.

Its set this way for a reason. As of Atmosphere version 0.8.6, the homebrew menu is now set to override everything. While this would be useful for overriding the Album without pressing any buttons, this would mean all of your games would open to homebrew menu by default. Having to hold R ensures that you can open your games normally or title override them at your command. You can't change the behavior to allow the homebrew menu to be loaded without pressing a button. You can only change what button you need to press or what it overrides.

I have another question (in fact I have a shit ton of question), to play .nsp with the sx pro you need an homebrew named tinfoil right?
Has anybody a tuto to use tinfoil? How do you proceed when the game/.nsp file need an update?

Nsp files work with all cfw. To install nsp files you can use Goldleaf, Lithium, SX installer or Tinfoil. To update a game use a nsp update file for that game if its available or been dumped. Although its not recommended just search youtube on how to install an nsp file. This way you will get a visual idea how its done before doing it yourself.

Don't press the home menu button whenever you are using any homebrew application.

One dumb question: Using sx installer/goldleaf, Where does the game update or game in nsp go if I install them in the nand, while in emunand ? Real nand or emunand? Because I'm guessing its 30 gbs of waste if it goes in real nand

EmuNAND is a copy of SysNAND. When you install games in SysNAND, they go into the internal memory aka the eMMC USER partition. Since EmuNAND is a copy of SysNAND, it has its own eMMC USER partition. I'm sure you are smart enough to figure out the rest.

Hey guys...total noob to the switch seen, but been doing Wiis/Wiius for ages.

Decided to be lazy and grabbed the team xecuter SX pro and have done what I assume is required based off the instructions on their site, but have accomplished nothing.

Anyone have an idea what is missing? I am able to boot into their screen and select normal FW or custom, both work, i click the picture section within the custom and nothing happens(so I am fairly certain I am missing a step around there, any help would be MUCH appreciated)

Thanks in advance

Yes, remember that your NAND is around 29 GB but that space isn't occupied by anything at the start. Same goes for EmuNAND which takes up the same amount of space as your NAND. The majority of that space comes from the eMMC USER partition which the Switch displays the available space of in Horizon. And in case you were wondering, games installed to the SD card with EmuNAND go in the emutendo folder since the Nintendo folder is used by SysNAND preventing any conflicts.

If I have a game, XCI format, on my USB, How do I update the game? Dont think there are XCI updates. Do I just download and install the NSP update? Im assuming the update will be saved on my SD Card?

Are CXCI updated XCI?

Thanks

You can either install the update in .NSP format with your title installer of choice or you can merge the updates into the .XCI file with NSC Builder
