Incognito

incognito
Wipes personal information from your Nintendo Switch by removing it from prodinfo.

purpose
a) So your switch can go online without worrying about a ban or using random dogdy DNS servers that are also likely to get you banned.

b) so malicious homebrew applications cannot steal your personal certificate.

disclaimer
Always have a nand backup. I am not responsible for any bricks or bans. Use at your own risk, experimental.

This application backs up your prodinfo to the SD root, you should keep this backup in a more secure location, and not leave it on the SD card where malicious applications can read it.

edit: atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, so you must use ReiNX or SX OS to install this. Once installed, you can switch back to atmosphere.

what keep Nintendo from using the battery serial number to ban the console? Or flag the battery and Joy-Con serial number?

you can find them under
System settings > System > Serial number

it seems safer to me to continue using 90dns

because you can change the joy-con/battery. You can't do the same with the switches internals as easily.

Simple for N, when they recive connection with spoofed or nulled id, burn one fuse to flag the console, when the console come online with her certificate and have the fuse burnt, ban it...

Clear or fake id's can save you for some scenarios, but when it's the company that make the device they always have more ways, and I think this gona be easy detected by their soon.

Each time that one guy use this incognito and come online, a call it's made to N servers, having null or blank parameters that they expect produce a log that it's traced by their, so I'm sure that they gona implement some simple protection against this like the CDN with the new methods of 6.0

That is because you are fundamentally missing how this works at the core. It corrupts the SSL cert, so the switch will not even ATTEMPT to make a SSL network connection to nintendo. Even if it didnt scrub your personal info, nothing would get sent. Its basically using nintendo's cert swapping protection against itself.

Yup, I don't have enought time that I like to reverse engineer all systems of the Switch, but still having more ways to detect it (using a global certificate if the personal certificate fail for example) or use HTTP connection (whithout SSL) for a second call for example.

I'm only warning people that when it's the manufacturer of device, they always gona take the control of the firmware and they can implement methods to detect patches, not only your patch, all can be detectable.

Anyways it's a good thing, but we should be always carefull, we don't know what they implement on each firmware version without reverse it first.

k, thanks.
I made a NAND backup shortly after buying my Switch. Do I need to make another one before using Incognito? I mean, can I use that old backup to restore prodinfo?

You want to backup your user and system partition it has your prodinfo, icognito modified that.

I don't get your answer ... maybe it's my fault for not being clear enough.

I haven't used Incognito yet.
In case I ever wanted to restore prodinfo after using Incognito, could I do it using the first NAND backup I made?
If your answer still stands, sorry for bothering you but I can't find a way to backup the user and system partition only. Can you give me advice on how to do it?

I did it with ReiNX without troubles.

ReiNX seem to be like 50/50, some people report it crash on them when they launch incognito, it crash on me also, so worse case people need to run SX OS.

When I meant backing up your full NAND I meant backup the boot0/boot1 , the raw NAND file and the system and user partition, in total it is 60GB, worth while if you run into a brick, You boot into Hekate to do your backup.

Can you update the switch with ChoiDujourNX when Incognito is installed? Or do i need to restore everything then update first? (for future reference, staying on 7.0.1 for now)

Incognito is broken on 8.0.0 for now, so it doesn't matter too much, you still be able to get keys from 8.0.0 firmware update.
