So I've not updated my switch in a loooong time, I'm on 5.1.0 but plan to do an update to 7.0.1 without burning fuses.
I've got a good idea of how to update my console but I've been out the scene so long that I'm still using a depreciated
atmosphere iteration (RajNX) and was wondering what free iteration of Atmosphere does everyone use these days?
I would definitely have to update these files (to ones that support 7.0.1) before updating right? So if anyone knows the
best iteration these days and could link me to the thread of it that would be great!

Hmm okay, I guess I could always update to 7.0.1 if necessary later I guess. Thanks!!
I would still advise you to update to 7.0.1 actually, considering that several updates for games are requiring it nowadays.

Yep
theres no reason to go to 7.0 yet
I'd just go 6.2

Genuinely curious as to why everyone keeps saying 6.2 is better.
I got my switch on 7.0 when I traded a RCM patched unit (serial numbers lie) for a Fusee-vulnerable unit so I missed 6.2 entirely.

Also, don't several games require 7.0+?

Pretty much everything was stable on 6.2. The 7.0 update changed several things that broke stuff on some homebrews. But it's good now.
