I am using 90DNS and I get news in the home screen and games warn me when they have an update available. I am pretty puzzled.
similar issue. went online to try retroachievements, forgot to turn it off before bed. no news updates but i got a firmware update pop-up now

Something has gone wrong with 90DNS for me in the last couple days.

EDIT: FWIW, I'm pretty sure my issue can be blamed on my router, and not 90DNS itself.

FOLLOWUP: It was my router. Fsck Netgear.

  • Go to System Settings
  • Go to Internet tab
  • Open Internet Settings
  • If you already have a wifi network: Tap on your wifi network, pick Change Settings
  • If you don't have a wifi network added, open Manual Setup and set up your network name, SSID and Security
  • Set DNS Settings to Manual, and set primary DNS to "163.172.141.219" and secondary DNS to "45.248.48.62"
  • Save and then connect to wifi

hmm.. I can see the benefit of setting 90dns so the switch has internet access.. but is there any reason you'd want a switch online if you're not playing online?

EDIT: ahh hacked youtube app.

I had considered doing pretty much the same above, but manually setting a second subnet which was limited to my home PCs and had no internet access at all.. that'd allow me to network install files at least and be slightly more convenient (just not as fast) than USB installs.

So I'm Noobish.....I'm on 6.2.0 after a 'no burn" 4.1.0 update and AutoRCM enabled. I run the 90DNS for YouTube trials. Have plenty of YouTube choices around anyway. Also a few homebrew "ish" download websites.

I wan't to use an Ethernet adapter for faster downloads. Am I still able to use my 90DNS setting going direct wire to router or does this change anything? Don't care about getting banned - but choose not to if able.

Yes, you'll have to set the DNS settings again when configuring the Ethernet connection.

FTPB is all you need (on Switch) to connect to PC for wireless transfer --- WinSCP for PC software to connect to that Switch (works for 3DS also....ect)

Be sure and use top pull down menu on left "WinSCP" and change to FTP -- * Your IP settings (Host Name) will show on SWITCH screen (3ds...ect) Port Number is 5000

Use "anonymous" (has own password). And "Login" to start.

Drag and drop from anywhere "or direction", as well as using folder search/drop - either side) *2 different ways to install the WinSCP (can't remember difference)

I used the one that mentions "2" in description.

*Be sure to have FTBP already running on Switch - then run WinSCP for connection. Can save settings in WinSCP for multiple connections.

I was getting over 2mb transfer speeds yesterday.

I've used the 90DNS on the Nintendo "NEW" 3DS-XL also (web browser).

(sorry) wasn't paying attention - multi-tasking "failure"...... thought I had edited to post the 90DNS for NEW 3DS-XL working to other post. XXX

90DNS is not working anymore?

I was using it from a long time with no trouble, since this morning i pick up my Switch and noticed that the News feed got update, the firmware update nag was there and there's an icon at my profile picture showing that i have a new friend request...
What's up with it?

(Plus i've hacked my Switch at the beggining of the whole scene, one year ago or so, i got caught online many times and i'm not banned yet)

Doesnt work on mine says connection failed

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Is it because latest firmware?

Mine has stopped working the past month. Ive never had any issues before this. Which sucks cos i really want to use hb shop and retroarch without update nag
