Hi, I haven't updated my ps4 6.20, waiting for a jailbreak. Is there a jailbreak for 6.20 now? To play downloaded games. If not, when will they release it? Sorry for my bad english.

No exploit for anything above 5.05 has been made public and won't be made public until Sony patch it in a later firmware. Ideally this will be towards EOL.

That one is not a kernel exploit (the one you would need).
The reason they do not release it is because they say they only have one working chain right now, which obviously would be patched right away from Sony.

No, there is not a jailbreak for 6.20 that can play downloaded games yet.

We don't know when there will be one released, we are all waiting patiently for it.

Funny - I was about to post in this forum today, I recently stumbled upon a second PS4. It's at 5.55... BAH. So no hope for me here either.. 5.05 is the lucky number?

No kernel exploit is released for anything above 5.05. A webkit was patched in 6.50 but this IS NOT kernel. The kernel exploit has still not been patched. If it's released then Sony roll out an update fixing it meaning that we have no access above 6.51, it's not worth burning exploits.

Can you prove your claim(text)?
So far, no confirmation that 6.51 kexploit, so what you're talking about is just lies.
The SCE page is one of the main sites where you can find information.

You misunderstand his post. He is saying someone has claimed they have a 6.20 kexploit, but if it was released then sony would fix it in 6.51.

I have a feeling that there was a private kexploit that has been kept secret for a while and only used to decrypt kernels to look for fixes & then they worked back from that to create a kexploit that they know is safe to release (because it's already been patched).

You're right, maybe misunderstanding.. I'm sorry @adam1290

I read this: "The kernel exploit has still not been patched. If it's released then Sony roll out an update fixing it meaning that we have no access above 6.51"(so 6.51 too), from this I understood that it meant 6.51 ..but maybe it's a bad understanding... so sorry

Well we can't know that. Exploit chains rely on multiple bugs, so it might be only half the 6.20 exploit chain was fixed in a later version and the other half is still useful to keep private. In the future there may be another bug found which allows the unpatched bugs to be used in another exploit chain.

You got ppl with ps4's on 5.50 still waiting for a new K-exploit. At this rate we probably should hope Sony will patch things when they release a 7.0 update.

so does this mean the kernel exploit still going on in 6.51? also does webkit exploit necessary for full jailbreak?? since it was patched in 6.50. sorry for the noob questions.

AFAIK the kernel exploit that works on 5.5X to 6.XX is the same one. It may be slightly different, I don't know. Webkit is just an entry point, the kernel exploit allows full access. It's like opening one door to find another door you don't have the key for.
