Hi all -- I'm trying to surprise my cousin by giving her our old save data when I gift her a gamecube + the collector's disc.
I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere on the internet. The closest I got was this thread from 2013:
I have attached all the files I might need:
*my Wii VC save (two files: 256kb file with no extension; and a 2kb file with .eep extension) (with a save in File 1 named SAUCE3, which also currently has an Owl Statue suspend save)
*a clean GameCube save file (.gci), 169kb (with save in File 1 named HAPPY)
I opened them all in HxD (hex editor) and I see recurring sections of data but I can't make sense of it.
I feel like I'm so close but I just keep getting corrupted save files!

& this reply from a few months ago:I was thinking about replaying the two Nintendo 64 Zelda games, and I'm wondering if the issues they had on Not64 or Wii64 have been resolved and if they can now be completed without problems on the latest versions of the emulator, or if the GameCube Collector's Edition via Nintendont is still the best way to play these masterpieces.
The Not64/Wii64 compatibility lists are a bit out of date, so I’m asking if anyone has played them recently on those emulators. Thanks in advance.

& this info about the Wii VC save file structure:Moving a save from Zelda Collector's Edition to a real cartridge isn't too bad for most the games, I just pulled it off myself for a friend who wanted to move his childhood GameCube saves onto his new cartridges.. All you have to do is pull out the save data in a hex editor and save it overtop of an existing cartridge save file. Assuming you have the US version of Zelda CE, just follow below-
For The Legend of Zelda (NES), the SRAM is stored from 0x2043-0x4042 in 01-PZLE-NES_ZELDA1_SAVE.gci
The same should be true for Zelda II, but I'm struggling to get a save from 01-PZLE-NES_ZELDA2_SAVE.gci to work.
For Ocarina of Time, SRAM is 0x6044-0xE043 in 01-PZLE-ZELDA1.gci
For Majora's Mask, EEPROM is 0x6044-0x26043 in 01-PZLE-ZELDA2.gci
