Do you have it in the folder WBFS?? Should look like WBFS/Super Mario Brothers...

All games go into the WBFS folder which is in the root of the drive.

Don't mix this up with the WBFS hard drive format, this is a WBFS folder on your FAT32k 32k cluster hard drive. Tends to get a bit confusing.
Ok, from the WBFS folder it works.
Weird, I've read literally tons of tutorials and stuff like this, any of those mentioned this :D

Anyway, on Mac, simply format the disc to FAT32, with Master Boot partition option, then create a folder called WBFS and copy the games there with WITGUI works.

Thank you for the help guys!

i have another question. so i got one game to work wiht homebrew and usb gx, but with another one, loz skyward sword, its not letting me transfer it to the drive im using for my wii, what could be the problem?

So it's been years since I hacked my Wii so a lot of my knowledge has been wiped out. I bought a balance board the other day, so I put a bunch of balance board games on my HDD, and when I start USB Loader GX, they aren't showing up. All the games I had previously on there still show up, just not the ones I added. They're in the proper folder with all the others. Also, I ran WiiFlow to see if they show up there, and they do! So why am I not seeing them in USB Loader? I'm sure it's something really dumb I'm forgetting, so I hope anyway. Anyone know what's going on?

hi,

i installed a load of VC turbogfx16 games to emunand in usb loader gx.
they are all listed as weird names (like PWPE, PGEE etc. etc)

i looked in showmiiwads and the channel titles are correct. usb loader gx seems to be listing title ids.
how do i change that?

I wanna start getting to wii hacking scene but can some tell me what a backup loader is, is just a way to load backups of games and if so which one should I get?
a backup loader is a program to load the "backups" (aka the games from an hdd)
for the wii there is usb loader GX, wiiflow, and configurable usb loader

i would recommend usb loader GX because its still being developed and updated. but any one will do, its mostly ya preference

Hey, I just got my USB Loader GX to work but now it's not recognising any games. I'm using a 1TB NTFS HDD, and I have a game in a wbfs folder. However after I boot up USB Loader it spits out this message to me "Error: Could not open wiitdb.xml" Any solutions?

Hello wii fans ! :yaywii:

I was wondering if there is a way to force Madworld to 480p , i tried to "force NTSC480P" in video settings but i get a black screen. I'm playing US version since PAL version is a bad conversion (black bar) on a european wii.
PS: I'm using USB GX loader !

Games don`t show up in any loader OR games don`t work? Are you sure you have it plugged into the correct usb port?
AND please use some periods or commas, its difficult to read a run on sentence.

Is it possible to use WiiGSC/CRAP channel creator with gamecube games? Also, is there an equivalent program for gc games?

Are they in wbfs format? You can to use the wii backup manager to convert/transfer the files over

So it's been a while since I used my wii and usb loader gx / nintendont.

The last time I did, I used two separate usb sticks, one for almost just gc games, the other for wii games and as far as I could tell, everything worked.

Now, a couple years later, i got some larger sticks lying around so I think, why not put everything on one? So I do that, formating it to fat32, copying the older sticks data onto it + a couple more isos that didn't fit before and usb loader still starts, downloading coverart works fine, but many a (gamecube) game doesn't start.
They're all in /games/name/game.iso / disc2.iso format btw.

Wario World and Cubivore gave me a blackscreen as did billy hatcher, Spyro - A heroes tail sometimes loads, sometimes doesn't, megaman collection worked most of the time.
From what I can tell, Wii Games work normally.

I tried updating to the latest nintendont and loader i could find, but then it started to just load the nintendont menu after chosing a game for a while (which then also couldn't run the games I tried).

Now here's the things I feel could be at fault here maybe:

1. It's the new stick. It's a 128gb 3.0 sandisk that comes with a usb a and a usb c connector. In many many years old threads, I read that loaders and sticks sometimes dont mix well. Is that still true?
I'll try again with the older and a different stick once I'm at home, but generally, would it be better to get a cheap ssd + sata to usb connector instead? Or does it have to be a spinny hdd for best compability?

2. I used GCMUtility to shrink some of the games. From what I remember, I also did that years ago with the other games without issue, but could that be a source for my issues?

3. something to do with ios? I never really quite understood that part of switch hacking to be honest, but is there anything to look out for in that regard?

4. I just copied the games back and forth over the standard windows explorer. Should I have used a program for that? I know there is one for wii games converting them to some other filetype, but I didn't think it was needed for gamecube games.
