Before you read this, I'm a complete noob at homebrewing Wii's (i know a bit about 3DS's) so I apologise for any facepalm sentences.

I've been trying to homebrew my Wii without an SD card, as my SD card reader in the Wii is broken, but I can't very far, because of NAND backups and boot2 and IOS and everything. I was wondering if the Wii was compatible with one of those USB to SD card readers, so I could go and properly homebrew my Wii.

Hello,

You can put all the contents of the SD card on the USB support but that it is in FAT32.

Then inform the HBC that the applications are on the HBC (go to the HBC, then press 1 or 2 of your Wiimote and inform that the applications are on USB)

But don't you need an SD card to get boot2 and a cios? I tried running the hackmii installer and it wouldn't work, with an error of -1.

Hello,

If it is to make the hack of your Wii, so NO you can not by USB, only by SD
