I had two sd cards for my switch, a 128gb and 64gb card, due to the lowering costs of sd cards I decided to move to a 256gb card which I've now received.

I dragged and dropped all files from the original 128gb to the 256gb, including the Nintendo folder located on the card, and can confirm all copied over successfully however the switch is now telling me that an update is available for all the games there should be updates on the card for.

Can anyone help me with this as I'd rather not have to download 50gb of data on Nintendo slow ass connection.

I haven't wiped the old sd cards yet so original data still stands

If everything was copied correctly and the card was formatted the same way (I mean exfat for example),
both card should work properly.

Although both were formatted by the same switch, both in exfat alas the switch is unable to see the copied over updates.

Anyone else experienced something like this?

oh, you shoudn't format the new card on the switch. when upgrading, you should format on the pc.
are you still able to "see" all your data on the switch using the old card??

Can you explain in detail what problems do you face when you clone the old card to the new one?
If they are exactly he same, they should behave equal.

Found the issue, after a bit of research I found there is a bug with Nintendo switch sd cards, no idea why I'd happens but if you drag and drop files from one sd to the other you have issues.

What needs to be done is to copy/cut and paste.

I thought this was bullshit but after doing that everything works fine

It's good to know that is working!
You could check the Nintendo folder permissions when drag n drop and copy pasting to see if you find any difference!
