So I have been using Hekate, have had no issues until recently where I am unable to install Final Fantasy IX and DLC for VC 4, I get an error message when attempting to install in TinFoil. I have read the games work on SXOS, is it as simple as buying SXOS and just launching into that payload? Or is FFIX playable on non paid CFW

Every person I found who says the game is working is using SXOS, with everyone else saying its not working? Is there something else I should be doing to get it to work?

Possibly. Hekate is not cfw it's the bootloader and what fw version are you on? What CFW are you using? Where did you get the .nsp? What version of tinfoil are you using?

  1. Which system version are you on?
  2. What are the system requirements for the games/DLC you're installing (check the NSP files using Switch Backup Manager)?
  3. Did you install these things using Tinfoil's "ignore system requirements" setting?

Atmosphere 0.8.1 I think its called? I got the NSP off IPT which is 100% legit, My System Firmware was like 6.1 or .2 and I used ChoiDurjourNX to downgrade to 5.0.1 and just ignore firmware in Tinfoil to play most games. Tinfoil 0.2.1

yeah, FFIX only works with SX OS. Apparently it asks for 7.0 and goldleaf and tinfoil are not able to install, or it installs but boots to an error or black screen using ReiNX/Atmosphere

Check certain forum where it is documented.

EDIT: apparently people on that forum are idiots and the game actually works

That was my fear, if I were to just buy an SXOS license, can I run the payload via my PC like I do Hekate or do I have to buy the SX Pro?

False.

Works on 6.2 (ams 0.8.3) installed with Tinfoil.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
