I've got to disagree. I feel it's pretty much alive. But we can't allow piracy material such as direct downloaders from torrents sites etc.
I personally feel I'm quite engaged with users, but that's just me. I can't talk for the others.

nothing personal mate just my input and to boost my post count so i could actually post my apps lol (advise from your discord channel)

compared to other forums the switch scene is quite minimal on here IMO.

i have now posted my ps4 and switch app - i know the ndownloader app was breach of rules (didnt know when posted) just assumed this site allowed that sort of thing as i know this site been around for YEARS! i was posting on here back when i was modding ps3 stuff not sure what happened to my account as i had to create new one when i came on here again to post stuff.

That's not a really good way to boost your count. If we feel you only do it, we can actually remove "points". But I digress. Your Playstation tool also breaks the rules.

how does the ps4 tool break the rules? it contains no copyright material and it is only used to modify games files really... ripkit = make games smaller, remove languages etc
cheat tool = add cheats/modded eboots to the games
modding = make modded files so textures, levels... depends what files can be opened by the ps4 tools out there to date.

my posts were relevent not just spamming to boost post count. As i said im a trusted dev on multiple forums with years of posting files ... i was the first to make a trainer for ps3, i was first to hack GT5 saves on ps3 + many other ps3 mods, wii mega installer for wii, ps4 i have made modded stuff too and now switch (although used on pc)

other places have more active developers and releasing lot more projects? which releases?
If you have a lot of (legal) releases we don't, I'd gladly add them to the list of existing homebrew that (most) were released on gbatemp.
and all the PC apps released on GBAtemp: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/List_of_Switch_PC_utilities
and you know, there's actually a app store, and I don't see a lot of "other" project not posted here.

Actually, there are few I really liked and just got released but are not posted here : McOSU and OpenLara.

edit:
I just updated the wiki list to add some missing homebrew I found on switchbru :P

Also, this is not a competition to be on the most active dev forum, the goal is just to enjoy coding and playing homebrew. wherever they are or come from. we all share.
A forum is not even required, some developers just have a github and that's all.

Also, I'd like to suggest a new homebrew:
Port of Chronotron, or Chronoclon NDS homebrew bounty 2011 (but no sources available?)

Has anyone shown interest in porting Jump 'n Bump over to switch??

I used to play it for hours as a kid, and every time I go back to it I have just as much fun as I did then. It seems like a perfect game for the switch, too, with simple concept/controls and four player support. Anyway, if someone ported this I know I'd play it a bunch. It was DOS based and I'm pretty sure the source is quite easy to find.

there's an homebrew/option that let me play with only 1 joycon connected to the switch? my left rail is kinda broken, only work as charge and doesn't recognize the joycon, and i can't play if i connect both joycon to the switch, since the switch recognize only the right one, thanks in advance

I don't know why rail would be in the way of connecting wirelessly joy-con. It sounds like your joy-con is broken, not rail.

the joycon works perfectly wirelessly and they're fine, new and i've already tested with gf and friends joycon, the switch got a screen replace and the rail is half broken, already diagnostic before the screen replace, now the rail only works in charging mode, not detecting when i connect the joycon, in this way the switch see only the right joycon and don't let me play any game if i leave the joycon inserted

GZDoom (OpenGL version of Zdoom). This would allow us to play Brutal Doom on the Switch!

This would be great especially because the new version 21 of Brutal Doom will be out soon.

GZDoom source: https://github.com/coelckers/gzdoom

Brutal Doom: https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom
Agree with this. GZDoom on Switch would open the door to so much. I still play various wads frequently on it and Zandronum.

The Android port works surprisingly well with a controller attachment, I can just imagine how great it would be on an actual console like the Switch.

Is there anything like a SD card manager so you can connect the Switch through USB with your PC so you don't have to remove the SD card everytime you want to switch out files?

Or is that just not possible?

Hello, I'm a huge fan of couch games, and luckily most of the games I like are available on Switch, which is way more practical to setup on a TV or in portable mode in the train for example. But not all the game I have on my PC are available on switch, and some will never be. For that reason I have been dreaming for a long time for a way to play my steam games on my switch, streaming is an option but requires either a good internet connection or having the PC connected to the same network. I don't know much about how custom firmwares and homebrews work but I have though of different "possible" ways.
- One would be booting on linux (steamOS maybe), then using an x86 emulator (since the switch is ARM) and install all the games you want. The downside of this solution would be that the switch needs to be turned off in order to boot on linux (which is minimal next to huge upgrade that it would offer). I don't know how bans work with linux but I'd assume it's less likely to be banned because the system isn't directly connected to Nintendo's server.

- The other solution is way more practical but more theorical, I was thinking of adding a x86 emulator via a homebrew and thus being able to play the games you want directly on the system.

The games I was thinking of using being mostly indie games makes them more likely to run on the Switch.
