at the end of the firmware update it said you must use the preventGCUpdate launch configuration every boot if you want to prevent GC controller update? what does that mean and how do i do that? i updated to the latest firmware 6.2.0 and everytime it boots it says i have controller update should i do it.?

i put two games on my switch and my nintendo account wont sync to the game for some reason

PreventGCupdate is to prevent updating your Gamecard slot reader's firmware. If you update from a low firmware (below 4.0 if memory serves) to a firmware that has a higher gamecard firmware, and you later decide to downgrade to a lower firmware, your gamecard wouldn't function on the lower firmware. However, if you preserved your gamecard slots firmware with preventGCupdate, it would work on lower firmwares, but not on the higher ones.

PreventGCupdate is pointless. Only applies if you want to go back to a pre-4.1 firmware.

But who cares about warmboothax when we have modchip coldboothax?

Your warranty is void anyway. Fit a chip and enjoy your life.

It won't ask you to update the gamecard firmware, it just does it. If you didn't preserve fuses, and have no intention of trying to use the gamecard slot on lower firmwares, you don't need to use the preventGCupdate. If it's asking to update your joycons, and you haven't physically modified your joycon as an rcm jig, you should be fine to update their firmware.

the update you're being promoted for is for the joycons, it's unrelated to the gamecard slot update and it's fine to do if you didn't physically mod your joycon.

my next issue is i put diablo on my switch and for some reason it wont let me link my nintendo account and if i have a DLC unlocked for a game how do i use that on my switch?
