Hardware Nintendo changed the Joy-Con strap design?

Hiya, My Switch is an XAW1006 I bought it over a week ago and I noticed something interesting about my Joy-Con straps, they didn't get stuck to the Joy-Con when I put them upside down!

Did Nintendo redesign the straps?

They only get stuck when I lock them via white tab on strap, but I can easily remove them via white tab on strap.

Weren't you always able to take it off by pulling it in the same direction that you put it on? People would get it stuck because they would try pulling it off in reverse and it wouldn't move.

you didnt put the correct strap... notice the + and the -.....

Dunno if you noticed but this thread is about how Nintendo might've redesigned the straps, as if you put them on backwards you couldn't remove them a while ago, but OP says that they might've been remade to account for this.
