SX OS is optional, it gives you features that others don't like using an external hard drive for games and cheats. If you don't care about those things you can use free CFW.

And as of right now, emunand only on SXOS meaning you can safely switch from CFW/OFW without fear of being banned from online. In theory. Its been working perfectly for me so far though.


but yeah theres the serial number thread here, match it with the one on your switch and figure out if you can hack it or not.
if its unpatched you can hack it completely for free (still need a way to get into RCM mode though, so would have to buy/make an RCM jig). Dont need to get SXOS to run "backups" or homebrew, atmosphere/other free CFW's do that job just as well if not better.

Your best bet if you want piracy on switch is forgetting about online and trying to get a second-hand console looking at the serial (as most people say here) to see if it’s not patched. Nowadays, first-hand non-patched switches are extremely rare

Depends on where you look. My buddy's store has 9 Switches in stock, and all 9 are hackable. It depends on where you live, and a factory of luck.

No, you can't! The Switch needs to be unpatched, no matter if you use SX OS or free CFW. They all have the same requirements... an unpatched Switch.
