For me the Wii U was a simply awesome platform because whilst there wasn't much on there what there was was absolutely stunning. Looking for inspiration for other titles to buy, my recommendations:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Not only an absolutely awesome game but the Wii U version is the ultimate rendition due to boss fight tweaks, all the extras they added into the game and how wonderfully the gamepad was used ranging from the hacking minigames to using it as part of an Augmented Reality setup to just little things like keeping the HUD clean and having it all where you need it. Quite simply no other immersive sim can even touch this one.

Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
Forget the carts, this in an arcade racer through and tough as nails with it. Very demanding and very satisfying plus a total blast to play. This one has actually been so much fun and has so much content that I haven't had the chance to check out MK8 yet. Great sense of speed and the car>boat>plane thing is actually seamlessly integrated and isn't the gimmick I thought it would be as it creates total different styles of play. Loads to unlock and even more to discover.

Super Mario 3D World
In every respect this title is awesome, its super bright art style really reminded me of a Dreamcast game for some reason as a lot of them had that lighthearted vibe as well. Sheer platforming perfection where everything is just so well put together.

What 3 did it for you?

"not counting games that was ported"

You literally said two games that was a port, signify by the obligatory "HD" next to them. :P
Could also say nes remix is "a bunch of nes games, but turned into wario ware 10 second micro game objectives" :creep:
Or how bout Super mario 3D world? Is just super mario 3D land in HD. (Okay is more than that, but you get the idea.) :ninja:

One game I wanted to like was Lost Reavers. A free to play online mutiplayer game which I never actually tried after beta cause I couldn't get used to the controls. Also a game strictly focused on online mutiplayer isn't my idea of a game to invest in. Fear of putting time into something that only last as long as people are willing to play it or devs support it.

Xenoblade chronicles X is another game I wanted to like, but some nit picks prevented me to get fully into it. Like the font problem, that's one of it. Another is probably how the online system works for mutiplayer, and that option of having eight different kinds of jobs or roles or something, I don't remember details except I was asked to choose a faction. I Also never got one of those robot things which was something I expected to do a lot sooner. I can't forget to bring up those download install data packs, I still remember waiting hours for that. It just fell apart for me and dwindled my excitement levels. I told you is probably nitpiks, but I'm not the only one who feel that way right?

One game I did like was Ninja Gaiden III Razor edge. Honestly it was a hard and frustrating game, but I did beat it and yes I know is probably not the best of the series. But it introduced some spectacle moments like diving off buildings and stealth take downs. First time ever it felt like playing a ninja. :P

Tekken Tag tournament 2 wii u edition could be a fun time. Honestly I am not good at those games, and before that the only one I played in the series was tekken 3. So you probably can guess that I don't take the game seriously. You're right, the mini games! Tekken ball, Tekken force, tekken bowling, mini games is what makes this somewhat difficult to learn fighting game fun even if you don't like fighting games or are button masher. Cause you get to put on nintendo all star character costumes and use super mario power ups to fight with throwing all seriousness the game ever had. Fun fact, based on the story, it had none. (Oh and tekken volley ball is still there) :creep:

Also who can forget super mario maker? Infinite fun? YES! Ideal replay game, except for the obnoxious levels that exist. But i guess if you rather not play poorly designed levels, don't play this game, or more specifically, don't play super expert. :ninja:

Some more stuff that interest me but failed to leave good impressions exist, but I said enough already in this one post. :P

Is Splatoon any good for a single player/offline player or does it need you to have friends (virtual or actual) because I'm too antisocial for that (Real Gamers represent!) :P

Tokyo Mirage Sessions, man I put about 10 hours into that game. When does the fun start? It was all sizzle and no steak compared to Persona 4 Golden as there was just no substance to it. Xenoblade Chronicles X is another one that just looks like a slog of game due to its sheer scale/size as I really don't have the inclination for these 5 hour games that are padded up to a 100 with extra crap (Looks at Persona 5).

Crazy thing about the Wii U is I've mainly used it for everything but Wii U games!

For me. I actually regret that I had to put Xenoblade Chronicles X down. I loved the world, monsters, all the systems I had to learn. There were SO many side quests I never even looked at, did almost no affinity missions etc. I only bought 2 mechs... If only there was more time.

And I can't pick just one. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE might have been legally distinct "Persona" on a Nintendo console, but I still kinda liked it.

So I can't just pick two, and I never even got to play this one, but I think Wonderful 101 was a great idea.

And whatever happened to 2013's Devil's Third?? I know it was always going to be a dumpster fire, but seriously wtf happened there?

X, of course - I actually bought the console 3 weeks before launch just for that game (which I haven't even finished)

The two mainline Marios weren't bad - loved 3D World (and Captain Toad) and found NSMBU hard but playable (if it wasn't for having had to start them over...)

Nobody said Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training yet?

Well THQ the publisher of the game went bankrupt so the game got delayed until late 2015 when Nintendo decided to publish it.

Looks like an interesting game. I like the option to be stealthy.
BUT like so many other action games on Wii U (Resident Evil, Splinter Cell, etc) they just ported the controls without offering THE OPTION of using gyro controls (let alone Wiimote+Nunchuk).

The gamepad controls on this game are sheer perfection. So much an integral part of the experience that it makes it the best immersive sim ever due to how well it was used because it never feels shoehorned in but very organic. Well worth the 5 bucks its going for now.

Anyone else got some picks?
