Hacking WAD that loads a ISO?

Haven't seen it myself...

Anyway, since most usb loaders can take arguments (and will autorun a game if one such argument is the 6-character titleid of the game), this can be done - and it has been done, with tools such as "Crap" automating the process

(Note that, while you can and normally do use the game's banner for the forwarder, a few games' banners will bannerbrick, since the restrictions on an installed channel's banner are a little tighter than a disc application's; just have Priiloader installed and no trouble will happen)

Maybe you saw someone quoting one of my old messages :

it's a channel forwarder creator, using the original game's animated banner, and launching the loader of your choice with TitleID argument.
you need to first set the game's settings in the loader, as the settings are not passed via argument but loaded from the loader's settings itself.

be careful, some games had issues and caused banner brick (a boy and his blob, for example). it should have anti-brick protection for know games. but the tool is old and not updated anymore to a lot of new games could be problematic but not filtered.

Not that, but i found what i saw: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-wiivc-injector-script-gc-wii-homebrew-support.483577/

ah, I thought you asked about Wii (because wad is the install package format used on Wii).
Glad you found what you were looking for WiiU then :)

ah, you really wanted for wii?
then WiiGSC is what you want. it creates channels to install on Wii, which launches games on USB (or SD with wiiflow/CFG Loader). it can probably be done for gamecube games too, but the tool is too old to support the creation of banners for these games.
it doesn't inject wii games into the channel, only a small forwarder to USBLoaders with the info of the game you want to boot.
you are limited to 48 channels on Wii.

Lot of people stopped using it when USBLoaderGX added the banner view layout, it allows you to see all games like if they were installed on your Wii menu, and you are not limited in game number.
