Hello everyone, as the title indicates, I'm looking for a program that can convert a .wad file to .iso. I've done some research online, and there was a program called "wad2iso" at the time, but its servers are no longer maintained. Is there an alternative?

why not use wad2bin?

Don't you have to put it on an sd card with bin but with iso you can put it on either sd card or hard drive? I could be wrong though haven't used a hacked Wii for years just use Dolphin emulator on PC for a long time now.

What is your goal exactly? This path is a deadend

Hello, what is this software?

Yes, that's exactly it.

My goal is to convert a .wad file to .iso, then convert that to WBFS, and finally load it with USB Loader GX using the Triiforce homebrew. I don't know if this homebrew is obsolete or not, but tutorials use it to load their .iso files.

Just going to ignore my post? You know, the one with the exact recommendation you should take? 😂
Oh, excuse me, I didn't see it. I replied quickly this morning, I didn't really pay attention to the messages.

Hello, I tried using the wad2bin program, but it didn't work. My WAD file is Pokémon Rumble World. I get this error code:
-----------------------
Starting...

wad2bin v0.7 (c) DarkMatterCore.

Built: 22:42:37 Apr 3 2021.

utilsConvertUTF8ToUTF16: UTF-8 to UTF-16 conversion failed! (3).

main: Failed to convert path from UTF-8 to UTF-16!

Process failed!

My WAD file is also installed on my Wii.

After some research, I learned that wad2bin only works with DLC. Is there a solution for this?

Use an emunand instead. Use gx to dump your nand to emunand, then also use gx to install content for it. Modmii can do the same on the PC side if u prefer, as can showmiiwads and probably dolphin, wiipy and others
Thanks for your reply @XFlak. But I don't like emuNANDs. I already used one thanks to your ModMii PC utility, but it's so slow, even though I configured it on a USB drive. And I actually prefer to have my save files on my Wii's internal memory, which is why I'm looking for programs that don't use emuNAND.

Just to clarify, when you call it slow, are u referring to neek loading your emunand? Or usbloader gx hooking into it? Because the latter should be a lot faster than the former.
To clarify, I'm talking about loading the emuNAND with Neek. It was very slow.

Here I am again. I did what you told me, @XFlak, and it worked.
I'll explain in detail, hoping it helps someone who comes across this message someday:

I created my EmuNAND with ModMii. More precisely, I made a Uneek+Di EmuNAND, since I'm using a USB drive for this. Then I told USB Loader GX to locate my EmuNAND directory and its files. Installing them was simple; I just used the EmuNAND WAD manager that comes with USB Loader GX.

I could also have copied my real NAND and created an EmuNAND with USB Loader GX, but I preferred to start from scratch.

Everything works perfectly, but I have a problem. I want to install an American WAD on my PAL Emunand. I've already used the PC program ShowMyWAD to change the WAD's region, but without success. I've also modified the loader settings and enabled video region patches for Emunand, as well as the channel patch. The game eventually launches, but it crashes after the first level. Is there a solution? And my game is Guyrostarr

I'm gonna guess converting WADs to a Wii disc format isn't possible unless the elf that is booted reads from the disc-based file system, rather than the app U8 archives each file is represented as.

There might be some other cases too, but that's one reason why it might not work
