SX_APP_11.jpg

Near the end of 2018, TX released their stand-alone SX INSTALLER app, and now in the New Year, they have updated it with a bunch of 'bug fixes' and a ton of improvements, check it out below, we are sure you will love this nice update to their SX app, like the amazing new feature to backup and restore your game saves, that will come in handy for many of our loyal SX OS users! :)
Your friends at Team-Xecuter are back again with another major update for the always improving SX Installer V1.1

As it becomes a more and more powerful tool, you will find now not only lots of stability improvements, but also key new features like touch screen support and the never seen before ability for the user to be able to drag the list of games.

We will let you discover the rest, please find below the change log for v1.1:
  • Fixed "delete after install"
  • Fixed file browser copy progress bar.
  • File browser delete now works for SD, FTP, and USB HDD.
  • File browser rename now works for SD and FTP.
  • File browser can now write to SD, FTP, and USB HDD, so files can be copied to FTP and USB HDD now.
  • Single click back up all game saves!
  • Added Touch Screen support everywhere!
  • Added ability to preload meta images.
  • Images are now stored in image database files, as some fat32 users ran into SD card issues with the sheer number of image files before. /switch/sx/cache/ and /switch/sx/icons/ can now be deleted.
  • Added support for backing up and restoring game saves.
  • There is an option to specify the game save backup directory, which supports SD, FTP, and USB HDD. So you can backup and restore your save games from across the network or from your hard drive.
  • Improved stability for network installs.
  • Improved translations for ZH, NL, and RU.
  • Added confirmation dialog for deleting files.
More to come soon on all fronts, and as usual do not hesitate to email us for bug reports and suggestions, or to utilize our TX Community for support from fellow users like yourself. Our motivation is your satisfaction.

Bug:
------

If you attempt to delete a Folder within SX Installer it will ask to confirm the deletion.

If you click yes, the system will crash with Error Code: 2168-0001

This happens with both empty folders as well as folders with files inside. I only tested deleting files from the SD and not from other sources.

SX OS v2.5.1
SX Installer v1.1

I'm confused about this
"Images are now stored in image database files, as some fat32 users ran into SD card issues with the sheer number of image files before. /switch/sx/cache/ and /switch/sx/icons/ can now be deleted"

it's taken me a LONG time to download all the images and I don't want to delete them. where is the image database file? Do i have to download those instead?

ok so I just tried it and now it's downloading all icons again? I have a 2gb cache folder and 500 mb of icons. I don't want to have to redownload everything again.

this is very buggy. getting error 2168-0002 first when I left it downloading all the icons again. Then I rebooted and it crashed at launch. will try again now. I did not delete my cache folder nor my icons folder but that didn't make it crash the first time I ran it so...
edit: installer launched and while browsing through the menus crashed with 2168-0001.

Loading usbhdd's folder which contains xcis/nsps in File Browser takes "forever", compare to 1.0 (instantly loaded)
Delete folder could lead to a crash.
Press Return button on keyboard when renaming a file will add unknown character.
Many annoying bugs has been occurred.
Some XCIs couldn't recognized, it might be the issue of reload xcis every single relaunch the sxinstaller.

Could you please add an ability to turn off scan/cache XCI on load? The current version couldn't delete file location, they will automatically create when relaunch sxinstaller.

Thanks

Very nice! Finally the delete after installation works. That was annoying. But like everytime: money well spent and I am looking forward for even more awesome updates.

Thanks for rocking the switch scene!

If you're going to correct someone's spelling for their - at least spell it properly in the context it was written.

It should actually be There - not Their.

Do you know the difference between Their, There and They're and how they are used?

We know how they're is used. There used the way their used like when their is used the way there are all used.

Still too buggy. Now I know why they made this into an app instead of integrating it into the CFW, it's just too buggy and caused more problem than helping. Why release it before it is fully tested? You are giving yourself headache with so many users complaining.

It sounds like you need to enable unsigned code installation. That is blocked by default for the safety of the user.
I tested it afterall and it doesn't seem to do anything here. I tested both 1.0 and 1.1.

1.0:

1.1:

sx11.jpg sx11b.jpg

I also tested it with both NSP creation methods, romFS and forwarder to an NRO. Nothing changes. Both Goldleaf and the regualar Installer on the SX OS menu had no issues installing it.

Very low blow of him to sell out if true.

How is it a low blow? You have a free version with less features that you are free to use, use Goldleaf, or use SX's version with more features.
I tested it afterall and it doesn't seem to do anything here. I tested both 1.0 and 1.1.

1.0:

Can the file browser be used to navigate to folders on a network?

I've got a NAS drive where I keep my backups. It would be amazing if I could install directly from the NAS.
