I recently bought a second hand switch which has already been hacked by the previous owner. He made a clean nand backup before doing anything to the system on firmware 5.1.0 and later updated to 6.0.1 without burning fuses.

Now I've installed SX OS on the Switch and I want to have a clean sysNAND and use the emuNAND for homebrew/backups (or the other way around). Is it possible to restore the NAND backup to the sysNAND or emuNAND and still have SX OS on the other one?

And what are the risks of doing this? Is there a way to verify the nand backup since I didn't make it myself?

Restore the NAND backup then setup EmuNAND. Hekate, which is the tool you should be using to restore the NAND with, has a way to verify the NAND while its restoring. Another verification you could perform is mounting the NAND with hacdiskmount. Also you should be restoring both the rawnand and boot0/boot1.

Is there no way to create emunand from that nand backup without having to rewrite sysnand?

I already managed to installed emuNAND but I accidentally booted into OFW while the fuses didn't match in the process. So now I'm banned... But whatever, I don't care too much. Now I don't have to worry about all that shit.

Backup your SD, perform create emunand as hidden partition via sx bootloader 2.4 or 2.5.
After boot0/1 backed up successfully press cancel button.
Windows / macos etc > check if your sd formatted and had an hidden partition.

Restore nand using dd, where of is your SD
dd bs=512 if=./boot0.bin of=/dev/disk2 seek=2 conv=notrunc
dd bs=512 if=./boot1.bin of=/dev/disk2 seek=8194 conv=notrunc
dd bs=512 if=./rawnand.bin of=/dev/disk2 seek=16386 conv=notrunc
There is a dd version for Windows
