Better Super Mario Sunshine Online released, adds online co-op and custom hide and seek game mode to play

If you've been waiting for an excuse to replay Super Mario Sunshine and happen to have up to nine friends, do I have some good news for you. Released earlier today, Better Super Mario Sunshine Online does what it says on the tin, bringing synchronous online multiplayer to the hit GameCube game. Up to ten players can join a single session, with you able to see player movements and animations in real time. You can play the entire game cooperatively, with story and plaza states remaining in sync, as well as red coin progress for people who join the stage midway through a Shine.

Going beyond standard cooperative play though, this mod also brings in the popular hide and seek game mode, allowing you to put your knowledge of the game's various locations to the test against your friends, or just your ability to run away from them.

That is an insanely high quality mod to come out just like that out of nowhere.

Or they pull out the same thing they did with 3D All Stars in this imaginary scenario and make it limited for purchase..........For some goddamn reason (Those ports were not even good, Galaxy was and is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked)

If Super Mario Eclipse could survive for almost two years as one of the biggest mods for Sunshine to ever come out under Fair Use as a "transformative work", so can this. Worst Nintendo can do is just takedown videos that showcase this for copyright stuff on YouTube, because YouTube's Content ID system is consistently abused up the wazoo.

I can't find it either (Windows-only too!), although there are many notes regarding the inner workings (for LLMs I assume?). I posted a comment there, maybe the author will publish the source code at some point.
