so about to back up NAND with sx pro for the first time so I can update my switch to 6.1 for the first time through choidnujour nx just curious how does the NAND back up help you if something goes wrong

Just inform yourself about "fuses" before you update, because a NAND Backup does not protect you from burned fuses. Be sure to understand the implications of what you are doing (broken sleep mode when downgrading, only possible to boot with autorcm etc.)
