Homebrew Question proper name for switch files

So i know that 3ds games were dubbed .cia files but what are the classifications for switch games?

nsp for digital copies and xci for cartridge rips

Okay i dont plan on getting any just yet but when i do what should i go for?

me personally i prefer nsp, but nsps can be converted to xci and vice versa. so more or less personal choice. Xci is generally safer against banning from nintendo, but its not a sure thing you wont get banned for using xcis. General rule of thumb anytime your run any type of homebrew on the switch your open to a ban.

Well, unless you want to pay for SX OS you are pretty much stuck with nsps.

As an SXOS user I have yet to get banned using XCI however I cannot go online as 6.2.0 is not supported, also I do not install NSP's and if I use homebrew it is done offline with stealth mode enabled.

So in this regard I would say XCI rips are better
