Hi Im new to the Switch scene. Im currently backup up my NAND then will begin and make an SD EmuNAND using SX PRO. I would like to set up autoRCM so I dont need to the jig in all the time. I thought I remember hearing something about AutoRCM and fuses. I dont want to mess anything up really. SO I was looking for advice.

Currently my SYSNAND or Horizon or whatever its called is 4.1. I imagine myself making an SD Emunand and updating it to 6.1 So I can play smash and Captain toad and everything and keeping my original firmware on 4.1 and probably never really using it.

ALSO: How does one update EMUNAND? In the old 3DS days you just go and update and its fine. But I think I heard the Switch EmuNAND is different. I found a "NX-6.1.0-4.0" firmware file online and Im guessing I just install that on EMUNAND and it wont affecti my sysNAND?

Advice appreciated.

Thanks

RCM helps you keep your fuse count. But if you are not going to update, you don't have to care.
If you update EmuNAND, fuses won't get burned anyways.

So IF I want sysNAND FW 4.1 and emuNAND FW 6.1 auto RCM isnt really needed to save fuses? But I can use it just to prevent hassle of loading my switch every time?
Also how can I update my emuNAND? I downloaded a package that has tons of NCA files for the firmware But want to safely update emuNAND only not sysNAND

Im in the same boat!

I dont want to burn fuses and not sure if I should enable autorcm option on ChoudiJour or should I use the autorcm option from SX OS payload (maybe both?)

My sysnand is on 3.1 and I want update my emunand to 5.1

Nope. Because in order to boot to EmuNAND, you need to boot through RCM, thus trough bootloader with bypasses the fuse check, so they won't get burned.
CHoidujourNX should do the job. But I never used EmuNAND, so can't say for sure here.

Both options do exactly the same thing. But updating overrides it, that's why it is in choidujourNX, so that it "installs" autoRCM after updating (writing) the FW.

Thanks a lot for the info, one last question if you may!

Does SX OS preventas from GC upgrade? As im on 3.0.1 I understand that a update to a later fw would update my GC reader correct?

thanks in advance!

Not sure, but my guess would be that no. Probably wait for someone who knows it for sure.
