Which is the best device? I want to get one for my sisters (they are 9), which should I get, was planning to go with the sx os one, but I see there are other options now, I also need it to arrive before Christmas, so a whats also the best place to order from? I plan for them to use Reinx if that matters.

Um, are you sure you want to get your sisters who are nine years old CFW? There is a chance of their systems getting banned, restricting them from going online. Anyhow, as for your question, the best CFW available is Atmosphere, which you can load through Hekate.

Mom doesnt let them go online anyway, btw not asking about actual cfw as much as the loading devices, like the one tx sells or the AceNS.

NS-Atmosphere obviously
The SX Pro has a shit resistor battery, NS-Atmosphere uses lithium battery
My SX Pro kinda died and now I have to charge it everytime before using it (charge lasts 1 use kek)

Edit: sorry I thought you were talking about dongles
When it comes to CFW, SX OS is the best one

Ah, okay, sorry, I misunderstood. I haven't used the ACENS loader so I don't have much experience with it however, I personally utilize Team Xecuter’s SX Pro which has worked fine and can load different CFW’s. I’ve had it since July.

Honestly: get the NS-Atmosphere. The SX is okay and the AcesNS (at least in it's first version) cannot hold a charge.

Okay and if I have them in autorcm, and i flash the ns-atmosphere with reinx, will it boot directly? Gonna go with this unless someone has a reason not to? AH crap is there a US seller, gotta get it before Christmas.(nvm i see a few on ebay)

I would purchase the SX Pro from ModChipsDirect. I had some trouble with them at first since I bought mine when they were holding pre-orders however, I’m sure they have resolved those issues. Additionally, it's 30% off right now.

Edit: It also includes the license embedded into it, which grants you access to all of SX OS’ features.

Here's how the NS Atmosphere one works: Basically you burn into it whatever CFW.bin file you want it to load, then connect it to the switch, places the switch in RCM and boom it loads whatever Payload.bin file you burned into it. So basically, yes, it will load directly

I started my youngest with an DS AceKard at 4 and just trained him on it. Made sure he understood what we were doing, why it was dangerous and to not to go around kindergarten bragging about it. And most importantly always, always, always to stop and come see Dad whenever he sees anything about “update”. Breaking those rules means a lot fewer games.

As to which dongle to get obviously the critical factor is shipping time. These modchip sites frequently claim something is in stock online but don’t have any. I would try and contact them and verify delivery timeframes.

Agree with others that the Atmosphere or SX are likely best at this point.

You can also consider a modchip to load the cfw, you need to solder but the modchip allows you to automatically load the payload whitout extra devices around, whit a modchip im talking about the team rebug one

Sure it's smaller...but not only is it more expensive, the resistors burn out WAY too easily

Well, if you purchase it from ModChipsDirect, it’s 30% off, making it about 34$. I’ve had mine since July, and it still is perfectly functional.

I think the whole point with the SX dongle is, that you should not charge it for too long. After a couple of seconds it has this high pitch whine, which should tell you: unplug that thingy. It does not sound healthy.

Hand mine since July and it still works like a charm btw

34 Dollars...when the NS Atmosphere one isn't even 10. The SX dongle is still the most expensive dongle out of all of them and it isn't even the best of the bunch

Granted, the SX Pro brings a license for SX OS which on its own, costs 25$. Subtract those, and you’re paying 9$ for the dongle and 25$ for the license. The NS Atmosphere doesn't bring the license to SX OS, and the SX Pro like the NS Atmosphere, can run any CFW.

I don't understand why you want 9 years old to play Nintendo Switch ? It is very expensive and I would supervisor my kid (I don't have one but I have many nephews and nieces) to play Nintendo Switch. Try ReiNX.. Great CFW and its free and very easy!

Except the SX Gear which is just the dongle and the jig, is still $24.95 according to TX themselves

Just because they are kids it doesn't mean they automatically break everything they own. My niece is 8, she has a Switch and she takes perfect care of it. Kids aren't stupid, they know how to take care of stuff as long as you teach them the importance of it

Someone can give me a AliExpress link for the best and cheapest dongle possible?
Thanks.

I didn't say they are stupid.

Just teach them how to take care of it and thats all. :)

That 9 year old likely has a smartphone worth more than a Switch. I will give you that boys tend to a little rough and careless with stuff but a screen protctor and a full case should help. I used those Nerf cases for the DS’s when my boys were younger. Hinges still broke though.

A 24 hour screen time time-out when you see carelessness usually solves problems quickly.
