Hacking Buying a second hand switch to hack

Hi I’m looking to buy a second hand switch to hack is the only thing I need to check the serials or does the hack only work to a certain FW ?

Fusee Gelee works on any firmware but it is patched on newer switches.
Switches produced after Summer 2018 are patched.

You can just ask the seller when he bought the switch or you can find out by serial number here:

Very unlikely because the new revision is out since ca. 5 Months.

You could still try to find one in a really small store by comparing the serial number

Except for the ipatched units.
OP, the only way to check is serial number (can't be 100% sure) or by pushing a payload.
