Steam Summer Sale goes live, various titles discounted by varied amounts

In this time of economic uncertainty and rampant price hikes, the Steam sales stand as our final bastions of affordability for those opting to avoid the seas. The 2026 Summer Sale is now live! Those with a PC can excitedly start rummaging through their bloated wishlists for that one game they've been waiting to drop below 50% off.

With so much to choose from I figured I'd throw out a few personal recommendations. At the top of that list is Monster Hunter Rise, a game that will happily run on any old potato, for a grand total of £7.99 with the Sunbreak expansion. We've also got the original Slay the Spire, which remains a fantastic way to lose 100 hours of your life, at just £4.99. And to round out my brief list, I'll throw Palworld out there. Though it's only discounted by 30%, sitting at £17.49, there is a chance its retail price will increase when it moves out of Early Access next month. If you've been debating it, there's not much of a better time to give it a shot.

You've got until the 9th of July to find what you fancy, so take your time and make use of Steam's refund policy to make sure you're not left holding onto a game you might not want to play to the end.

Between Epic giveaways and Fanatical bundles, it's mighty difficult to justify appending anything to my ridiculous backlog anymore, even if Humble ain't what it used to be.

But Aggelos is two bucks, so that's something.

I was recently reminded of Obsidian. There's a freakin' gushing contemporary review of that over here. And it's only three bucks.

That'll do it for me.

You can refund and rebuy if you've not played them for two hours yet. It's a valid thing to do that's mentioned in the refund policy.

For the prices I paid for what I got, I really can't complain... I still got some solid games at less than the price of 1 full-priced game.

Will wait until the 7th before I decide to buy anything (new humble bundle out then). Quick look through my wishlist doesn't look great though, mostly the same titles on sale for the same discount as normal.

That's how I feel. I looked at my Steam Wishlist and felt these discounts looked familiar and unremarkable. I know I've kvetched about this the last few Summer/Winter Sales, so I'll be quiet.

Metallic Child will seemingly never go on sale below $14.99, and it makes me sad.

Oh effing heck, Carrion is 90% off. That's one of the ones I folded on a little while ago, thinking it would never get cheaper.

I might drop $10 on Starstruck Vagabond, mostly to support Yahtzee Croshaw. Apparently it's at an all-time low.

I just bought some games yesterday, guess I should have waited..?
Like it has been said, you can ask for a refund and buy them again at the discount, but you should always keep an eye for a sale.

You can also check websites like isthereanydeal.com to check price history and check for price trends (or sites like allkeyshop.com if you don't care about unauthorized key stores).
