Greetings tempers,

After seeing the special edition Let's Go! version of the Switch, I figured it would be more economical to try getting my hands on the outer shell for the system, joycons and the buttons (possibly the dock? that might not be as bad to put decals on, though) rather than buying an entirely new Switch for aesthetics. (That, and I have a XAW400019 Switch) I figure that eBay would be the best place to start looking for these parts once the game/console release, but are there other places that might already have these parts available? I saw some stuff on Amazon but they were mostly decals - and I've heard some horror stories about how they damage the finish on the Switch if you take them off so I'm going to steer clear from that. Thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

How are people going to be selling parts from official hardware before its even available for purchase? Just wait a bit for these to show up on ebay.

I'll be shocked if you can ever find official joy-con shells, given the effort involved in removing/installing them. They are just solid colors though so you might be able to approximate with existing third party shells.

You'll most likely just have to pay the $125+ that people are selling the full joycons for on ebay. I highly doubt anyone will get them just to replace the shells.

Yeah, probably wouldn't be too difficult considering some vendors might even start selling ones that match the ones sold in this bundle exactly. Though, it couldn't hurt to just get some new JoyCons - for some reason my left JoyCon has a weird clicking when trying to use the L button and the directional buttons always feel sticky for some reason..

You'll see the joycon shells on ebay and aliexpress soon enough. I've bought other colors from them and they're 1:1 indistinguishable from legit, including all the screen printing, etc. It usually takes about 3-6 months for some joycon colors to appear that way.

The dock and switch housing is much less likely, though, but you never know.
