Hacking Question About Fuses

Quick question, i just got a Switch on firmware 4.0.1, already did my NAND backup before doing anything else, i followed this guide https://reinx.guide/ until the part of running the Album to execute hwlauncher, which of course i cant because i have to update to the latest firmware in order to be able to use it since its on exFAT format, i know burning fuses wont allow me to go back to a lower firmware but since everything is compatible atm i dont think i should worry about it and just update, still i wanted to ask b4 updating:

1.- should update to the latest firmware or go through the whole painful and long process of updating to the latest fw version without burning fuses?
2.- if i just go for the official update firmware way, should i backup my nand again because my fuses will be burned and if i restore my nand it wont accept it because its on 4.0.1?
3.- if i do the NAND backup again having already installed ReinX, will i have traces of any modifications in case that i one day decide to go online? if thats the case should i restore my NAND backup first and then update the oficial way to the latest firmware?

1. ChoiDujourNX is not a long process lol, it literally takes 5 minutes.

2. Your backup nand of old firmware can't be used if fuses are broken. So yes, you need to redo nand backup.

3. Don't be stupid. Restore nand first>update officially>backup new nand> do cfw.

Simple said, just follow my instructions.
1. Use ChoiDujourNX to update to latest. It will enable autorcm to prevent fuse breakage. (DO NOT DISABLE AUTORCM)
2. You can restore your 4.0.1 anytime anyday if you do this.
3. Simple.

A few mins after i posted this i found a link to ChoiDujourNX lol, it doesnt seems to be as hard as the other one i found in the forum, so basically even tho everything is compatible with the latest firmware is still recomended to avoid burning fuses? also if i understand correctly and i do the firmware update with Choi, i should still be able to run my nand backup anytime and restore my console to clean state if i wanted to? and last if i enable autorcm that means ill have to connect my console through the usb-c cable ether to my android or to my pc everytime i shutdown the console to use it again or am i wrong about this?


Note: i also dont have access to another console to do this step

Yes, yes and duh.

You do not need to be updated to latest anyway, you can use fat32 to install all your games anyway.

True but there are games that are requiring 5.1.0 i belive, my guess is that i wont be able to play those unless i update im also doing some more reading and aparently theres a coldboot warmboot running arround there, im doing some research atm

Like I said, just use ChoiDujourNX to update. Literally no downside to it.

i want to follow ur advise but im trying to figure it out about this part

the only advantage of not burning fuses is being able to downgrade, but downgrading isn't something necessary anyways because the latest fw is always exploitable thanks to nvidia

Yeah, the part where you got confused are just options you can choose from to get the update files. Alternatively there are a few sites as well that hosts such files so you don't have to extract it from an XCI or a switch with pending update.

2 You can use always restore any backup, no matter how many fuses it needs, if you bypass the fuse count.
