Btw the 1.5ghz OC patch seems to be unstable in some games and causes the SoC to reset.
After that it wont boot until it's booted up once without the patch (works fine afterwards)
The 1.2ghz patch doesn't seem to have these Issues.
Both work fine for hb emulation, no problems whatsoever. 1.5ghz works for botw just fine too.
But that means only 1.2ghz should only ever be considered to be used as default for the system if someone wants to play affected titles.
Knowing that I decided to only release it once I finished the hbapi to request it.

Aaaand thats why testing is needed.
May we know what games have such issues with 1.5 GHz clockspeeds?

XC2, Splatoon, for now.
Might be related to some timings.
We tried a little GPU-Only OC in handheld (480 Mhz, XC2 is really smooth in handheld with that), thats still slower than docked and the temperature is already way more volatile than the 1.5ghz CPU OC.

Feel free to complete the dynarec yourself instead of whining like an entitled baby.

Edit: beaten by the man himself

Nothing in my post is a whine and no where does it state or imply im entitled. Its does however state a fact.

Overclocking is not the answer. Overclocking is a temporary solution at best. it also seems more then 25 users here agree. I wont be overclocking the switch to run a n64 game i already own a copy of...

Screw emulation, lets run DOOM so it doesn't look crap! And while we're at it 60fps in the battle nite royale of fort

Yes I know

I know this thread is about n64 and ps1 but would over clocking also work out for something like the Sega Saturn. Not sure if anyone is working on that.

What? seriously ARM processor with lots of ram and we are looking for the easiest way out instead of optimizing the code? Because overclocking is like "okay i cant do this, just give me more power Nintendo..."

NO GOOD. We need real solutions not a cover for the code they cant or dont want to optimize.

And thats why this exists https://www.bountysource.com/issues/63766562-bounty-write-an-arm64-dynarec
not an easy task especially for someone to do it for free

Its optimization bedrock.
You think we would be performing that good if I didnt optimize the shit out of it? ;)
But you don't seem to know much, also ARM has a dynarec, we are aarch64 tho.

In Lakka I've only tried loading Panzer Dragoon Saga but it just went to the music player. Could be the bios I'm using or something, but even overclocked that music player ran slow as hell so I wouldn't expect much better from a game.

maybe you need to release something instead of bitching

You are right dont know much xD

Im not a developer so i wont be releasing anything :P

can you explain more? gpu-only OC makes the switch temperature too hot? how hot? is the fan still able to sustain a good working temperature or it keeps rising?

You guys don't get AC over there?

already been answered.. there is no aircon when you go outside.. I'm not a basement dweller like it appears some people are.

other than hot air.

hey I know how you could put that talent to good use - attach a large heatsink on the back of your switch and just talk and whine and bitch directly into it and it'll act somewhat like a peltier cooler!
